If money were no object and you had the ability to take a caddie every time you tee’d it up the rest of your life, would you: 1) take the caddie 2) carry/push cart your own bag 3) ride in a cart and why. What’s your choice and why? There are no right or wrong answers.
For me it’s take a caddie. And here’s why. 1) First and foremost, I grew up as a looper in my youth all the way through college. So I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for the time I spent doing it. 2) I thoroughly enjoy the conversation with a looper for four hours. Getting to know someone on the golf course is so much fun. 3) I’m helping to fund their livelihood especially if it’s their main source of income. 4) I love listening to stories from the seasoned vet loopers. The commentary is sometimes priceless. AND 5) I have been able to help many younger caddies network to the Evans Scholarship, future job opportunities, and introductions to other centers if influence. I love being of service to others through the game of golf.
