@SNeurotypicals I strongly believe Anthro has a lot of potential value but requires effort in clarifying rather than assuming norms and concepts. Some people do an amazing job. Others not so much
@SNeurotypicals Anthropology makes assumptions about who 'us' is in an attempt to clarify 'them'. This results in work that can be euro-centric, but also America- centric, classist and NT centric. I wrote my diss on depictions of time in anthro from a ND perspective
@sarahjaneparton Sometimes I find noise cancelling headphones playing intense binaural beats and sometimes techno as well can help break through it? Like really rhythmic non-lyric-based stimulus
@emmadish When THEY send requests to faculty etc they get expedited so as not to ruin their 'satisfaction' rubrics. Without the logged communication you're just emailing the ether
@emmadish Yes exactly this problem. The 'Streamlining' of services to online platforms is catastrophic in terms of access. The only way around it here if you can't go in is to call the generic customer service line (who know little but and they have to log your calls).
@emmadish And I've dealt with it by starting an adhd peer support group and stirring shit at every available opportunity. Usually the only way to get through is to talk to whoever is in charge. I just go in and wait till they'll see me. It's mostly a stamina thing
@emmadish It's to save money but also has the added benefit of filtering out all those pesky 'equity groups' who cause too much trouble with all their question
