@EuRollout@maxkarpis I do not think there will be apologies and forget. I do believe a fine according to what GDPR says may be coming and whatever happens to those individuals might lead to civil actions in the future.
I was pointing out there are 2 sides to this story. Only 1 is being reported.
@alexdolbun@maxkarpis Don't work for them. I just told you what the regulations say about potential fines under GDPR. But I do recognise you might not be willing to look it up.
@gdlinux@maxkarpis Good. Do you know the full story? Because the email talks about "CREDENTIALS". Do you know that in addition to sending an email sometimes you might be asked for credentials to forward to protected domains? What if those AGENCY credentials were hacked? Is that Revolut fault too?
@alexdolbun@maxkarpis You are sure? Taking 2 mins to chat with ChatGPT would have told you, the max fines under GDPR are 4%/$20m of turnover, whichever higher, and even those are extremely unrealistic.
But I guess I'm asking too much of you.
@EuRollout@maxkarpis Unverified? They clearly mentioned the attacker used a verified authentitc government email, with authentic credentials. Before blaming Revolut for all of this, shouldn't we wait for details on this govt agency and its absurd failures?
@BigpictureBTC Well, I belieev $330m to chat with Claude about what structured product to issue, elaborate a term sheet, pay fees to investment banks - is VERY justified. Should be more.
@maxkarpis EU is a deeply localised market. Local IBANs, Local payment integrations (taxes, transports, utitlities) are a must, not cosmetics.
Revolut did Revolut Lite in the past with a similar principle. It was shut down.
@hilbertspaess Genius level marketing for Anthropic. And you, as a former employee and hence current shareholder, couldn't have done a better job at proppping up even more the val.
@CJ_Bitcoin For fuck's sake you had a 30% drawdown almost a few months ago and you keep comparing yourself to money market instruments. What a joke this industry has become.
