I am teaching a graduate class at California State University - East Bay and the topic was around fear and failure. After each class, students write a one-page reflection on something that resonated with them. This was one of my favorite quotes.
Mountain Climber, Ed Viesturs, sums it up nicely and consistent with the 100 executives and endurance athletes I spoke to. When I asked those 100 about their view on taking risks, most said something similar to what Ed says below:
