What I interpret this as is that Arsenal don’t want to drive the price of Aouar up by swiftly triggering Partey’s RC beforehand.

If you’re negotiating with a club who loves to drive up prices of players, paying an RC for another player indicates you have more money to spend.

@afcevan In isolation our negotiation strategy is smart because we make groundwork on multiple deals, but the lack of definite intent until the last second is what causes these teams who can spend apparently w/o consequence the ability to overbid us for the player. Frustrating

@afcevan I think we all have to understand that shifty transition winger is not the profile that Mikel wants out of the role. He wants the hybrid ball carrier that can shift inside to bring us forward and can strike a ball well. If that’s the case, then there’s no one better than Rogers.

Yet we watch the actual performances and see why.
