This is insane. Jiankui He continues his work on editing embryos with CRISPR even after serving a prison sentence for his previous reckless editing of two embryos with no ethical oversight or regulation.

The US has elected to effectively ignore embryo editing by stopping federal funding to establish safe methods for heritable editing and banning the FDA from reviewing anything that comes close to the topic.
