1) so you want to learn to trade options, huh?
let me try to make that journey a bit easier 🤝
before we get started, it's important to dispel the myth that options trading is somehow "too complicated" or "too risky" for the average joe...
this is complete nonsense! 🤡
this is going to be huge. i haven’t talked about it much bc i didn’t want to get ppl too excited while we finished polishing it and the excitement turn to fatigue, but it’s almost at the finish line.
Kyan will be a stark contrast from what is seen today in the defi-options space. Portfolio margin isn’t a new feature necessarily, a couple protocols are providing margin in some way in defi-options, but Kyan will be the first to offer multi-leg strategies (upto 6 legs) w/ the ability to hedge w/ perps, all in-house under one unified system, and that’s just the start!
One-click trading and a Combo/position builder that many are familiar with but with some new quality of life improvements like a “shopping cart” so u can grab positions while looking over different orderbooks, or check charts and not lose the position(s) you were interested in. There are actually a lot of ways to easily customize your positions, leg in/leg out to change strategies, and manage portfolios across multiple accounts. We put a lot of time into the design/ux of kyan, so although feature rich, it is designed to be extremely easy to navigate and use.
isolated margin will be coming shortly after initial launch to provide a fuller experience for both our options and perp users. Doing this all in-house enables us to also be able to then create our own spot markets. So as you can see, Kyan is much different than previous versions of Premia.
Kyan is a low latency, high performant derivatives exchange. This new experience has been over a year in the making with pro-traders and institutions in mind. Liquidity will be deep day 1 with multiple mm’s signed and an experience tailored more towards what is found on deribit, but on-chain and w/ a much cleaner ux.
All this said, we haven’t forgotten about our users who aren’t looking for a traditional exchange experience and want the more “defi-native” dex experience, so we built @archetype_blue
Archetype currently is a cross-chain meta aggregator w/ some pretty cool extra features enabled by Premia (and soon Kyan). We aggregate the top dex aggregators across most evm compatible networks and charge no fees to give users best execution and pricing on swaps. You can also just purchase vanilla options in a more defi-native ui, powered by Premia on the backend.
Now, on @arbitrum, users can set up smart accounts to take advantage of a feature we call “price protection”. It allows you to package a call or put option for any of the supported assets with an expiration of your choosing and a strike closest to the spot price of your swap, all in a single txn by bundling the txns.
we have other features planned for Archetype such as different types of aggregation and new networks, but with the launch of Kyan, we’ll be able to do cool things like package perps w/ spot swaps in a single txn too!
A lot of stuff coming and im super excited for everyone to get to see it all over this next year = )
the quiet part is all these aml filters and checks are pushed by cexes. i have no other explanation after several of my pristine addresses got flagged as risky when off-ramping. none of them ever touched anything but airdrops, dexes or defi lending protocols. the rules are completely arbitrary and for sure they discriminate against self custody, even if it’s fully transparent.
L2s can achieve a major UX improvement overnight simply by renaming "bridging" to Depositing.
Depositing is such a familiar and routine thing for ppl.
You deposit money to the bank. You deposit to Robinhood. You deposit to Coinbase. You deposit to Phantom. You deposit to TG bot #69. You deposit into an app. You deposit into a protocol.
You deposit to Base. You deposit to Arbitrum. You deposit to Polygon. You deposit to your favourite L2.
Those things are all effectively the same action.
"Bridging" is not as familiar. It's indicative of travel which feels time consuming and costly. It communicates a physical barrier to the user, a rift of some kind.
Nominative determinism is a thing.
We can can begin improving user experience right now, without any functionality changes, by using better naming conventions.
there’s a new EIP for scaling ethereum. it:
- increases blockspace by FIFTY percent
- does NOT increase the gas limit or DoS risk
- is TRIVIAL to implement

It's hard to not play things more conservatively once you have a wife and kid depending on you
But if you're still young and alone with nobody who loves you then you should absolutely be taking on more risk

Premia v4 (Kyan) will be an order book based Options and Perpetual Futures decentralized exchange, with a smooth CEX-like experience 🔵
Kyan will support Market Limit, Fill-Or-Kill (FOK), Immediate-Or-Cancel (IOC), and Request-For-Quote (RFQ) orders.

🚨 Heads up all—some dudes have a slick, new way of dropping some nasty malware.
Feels infostealer-y on the surface but...its not.🫠
It'll really, deeply rekt you.
Pls share this w/ your friends, devs, and multisig signers. Everyone needs to be careful + stay skeptical. 🙏
