For anyone that doesn’t understand what L2 is and why we are putting a telescope there. It’s called a Lagrange point. There are 5 of them in the earth-sun system. It’s a gravitational parking lot about a million miles from Earth. There the gravity of the Sun and Earth balance each other so a spacecraft can stay in a loose orbit with only tiny fuel burns, instead of drifting away.

It will give the telescope an unobstructed view of deep space, constant sunlight, and a clear radio link back to Earth.
