Good example of how getting stronger isn't just about adding quality mass to generate more momentum.
The strength to decelerate proximal segments (pelvis rotation, trunk flexion, trunk rotation), allows for improved energy/momentum transfer into the arm.
Here's a visual I've used before that applies to Misiorowski's HS > Pro transformation.
When the pelvis doesn't stick, the trunk can't fully accelerate. When the trunk doesn't stick, the arm can't fully accelerate.
Lower body strength/mass improves velocity through the mass component of the physics equation, but it also provides the ability to effectively decelerate so you can "crack the whip," send energy proximal to distal and create insane arm speeds.
This is something I see all the time.
Guys go out for velo days or games, but they’re not really locked in.
There’s no real intensity in what they’re doing.
It’s just, “I have a game,” or “I have a velo day,” and they go through the motions.
And I’m looking at it like, where’s the intensity?
What I figured out is they’re not mentally primed to perform at their highest level.
So here’s the challenge.
When you go out to throw, whether it’s a game or a velo day, and you feel like you’re lacking intensity, ask yourself this.
Is it just throwing a ball?
Is today just a velo day?
Is today just a game day?
Or is it one step toward achieving your goal?
🗣️ PITCHERS:
Pitch movement isn’t just about spin rate and velocity.
Seam Orientation adds another layer.
Rapsodo's PRO 3.0 is one of the ONLY products to track Seam Orientation.
Visual feedback so you can see how seam position influences break and movement.

Here's Junior Caminero, who now has the fastest *and* flattest swing of any qualifier.

S/O to @SamEhrlich@connerpelletier@Travis_Sawchik for their help putting this together!
Shohei Ohtani walked and stole second and went to third on a throwing error and scored and singled and doubled and homered as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs, 6-0.
