Just @ me next time!!
Just trying to have some fun thinking outside the box lol. Realistically, I know it canโt happen but a fun thought exercise. My guy @BobbyFootball75 shut me down right away tho ๐
I get into my car, and 97.1 the ticket is playing. The first thing I hear is that the Lions should run Juice Scruggs on running plays and have Cade Mays on passing plays, and when you run a play-action pass, the defense will be so confused.
This wasnโt a caller either ๐คฃ
Feels like that game was just about what we expected.
Lions defense made plays when they needed to and hung on for the win.
Offense was great in the second half against that amazing defense.
Lots to talk about! Join me @971theticketxyt at 7:00 tonight and we'll discuss it all
Best drive of the day for #Lions
69 yards, 57 gained on ground. Lions ran for 40 total yards on 4 straight plays. Textbook play action on 1st & goal leads to TD.
Well done.
@Quinn_Stark Many people wanted it to be taunting. I think they're right. 1 or 2 OL guys doing the point it one thing, but like 8 of the 11 players danced all over the field. It probably should've been called
2 weeks ago I discussed the eerily similar stats between the #Lions and the Bills. They're basically the same football team.
It's gotten even worse. The Vikings are the Bizarro Bills.
More on that tomorrow...
@donjuan52002@971theticketxyt The short answer, yes it's too late.
Many teams probably view the contract as an overpay (just look at his market in RFA, nobody wanted him), and DET wants to keep him anyways.
I see your point and am not necessarily opposed, just don't think it will happen
Weโre 12 days away from the NFL trade deadline.
Hereโs when each active NFL GM has made in-season trades this close to the deadline, including deadline day.
Full GM careers included.
This is very well done, but has a major flaw
When factoring what happens if DET misses 4th & 1, it ignores that teams score on 41% of drives that start at the +25
This says 11% (?)
The risk of a TD allowed after failing to convert outweighs the reward of converting
Really, REALLY enjoyed this post on POD's Feed comparing Dan Campbell's 4th down decision to Chipotle ingredients, plus a flow chart on decisions/outcomes.

@Section344Lions A. Game script. You stopped them all day including on 4/5 drives in second half
B. The defense is not perfect, but better
C. It's risk vs. reward. Teams score 82% of the time when the drive starts at the +25. Only 22% of the time from their own 30. You choose.
@CBrit24 But you'd be losing! That's my whole point!
You're giving up points (82% of the time) just to get another possession. One in which you're then forced to go the full length of the field and score.
Plus, based on what GB does, that score might only tie. It was WAY too risky!
How were the #Lions guaranteed to get the ball back?
GB used 1:24 on 3 & out (w/ an incompletion)
A 1st down + 3 more plays would've used another ~1:30. Then you're getting the ball down 3/7 w/ < 2:00
Yeah, you're likely to get it back (losing), but not a guarantee at all
@PoliticalDrinkr I like your point, but it's not about assessing downside/upside. It's about weighing the risk/reward of both.
To me, the risk of failing to convert and giving up a score outweighed the benefit of getting the first
