“People are fed by the food industry, which pays no attention to health, and are treated by the health industry, which pays no attention to food.”
Wendell Berry
@gnnaali15@bryan_johnson lol, most people can put their autoimmune diseases into remission with strict carnivore diets. How do you think autoimmune diseases develop in the first place? Mainly your diet.
The entire supplement industry is one animal, taken apart and sold back to you a jar at a time.
Steak is full of creatine. They tub it and sell it as a breakthrough.
Red meat is full of carnitine. Capsuled, sold as a fat-loss aid.
Beef is full of carnosine. Sold as beta-alanine, for the tingle.
Butter and egg yolk carry K2, which puts calcium in your bones. Capsuled.
Egg yolk carries choline, which builds your brain. Capsuled.
Bone and skin give you collagen. Forty quid a tub.
A cow's first milk is colostrum. Freeze-dried, sold to biohackers.
Then look at the names, because the names are a confession.
Creatine, from the Greek for flesh.
Carnitine and carnosine, from the Latin for meat.
Taurine, in your energy drink, named after the bull it came out of.
Butyrate, the gut-health darling, named after butter, where it lives.
The protein powder is just milk, dried and stripped.
The D3 they push each winter is scraped from sheep's wool.
The retinol in the ninety-pound face cream is the yolk you were told to bin.
So the supplement aisle is less a pharmacy than a butcher and a dairy, taken apart and marked up forty-fold.
Sold to you by the same people who spent fifty years telling you not to eat the animal it came out of.
Eat the animal. It arrives with everything already inside, for the price of dinner.
The capsule was always just the cow, with a middleman.
@willkriski@sm Papers that correlate meat intake with colon cancer, fool the masses I guess. If your “meat” is a 3oz burger patty as part of a McDonald’s fast food meal with large fries and a milkshake, then ya that’s an increase colon cancer risk. It’s not the meat…
@willkriski@sm You do realize that almost no meat reaches the colon (0-5%) as it’s actually absorbed and used by the body right?
By contrast all indigestible fiber goes to the colon, as well as a much higher percentage of all plant material.
@bryan_johnson How many more years until you realize fatty red meat is probably the healthiest thing you can eat? Looking forward to the day you put all this behind you and thrive on a heavy animal based diet.
@CoachDanGo@DrSeanOMara Dan, have you ever gone say 6 months without eating fiber? I feel like most people who still praise it have never actually gone without it for awhile. People might be surprised how improved all aspects of digestion become without it.
@RedTheRaider@jwolnizer@MikhailaFuller Also clearly you weren’t fully fat adapted that quickly, Alex McDonald famously completed 5 marathons in 5 consecutive days consuming nothing but water and electrolytes while fully adapted to a strict carnivore diet.
I’ve also run a fasted marathon myself, no issue.
@RedTheRaider@jwolnizer@MikhailaFuller Your sweat swelling more just means your body was purging stuff out. When I eat clean carnivore , body odor is reduced like 99%. With daily showers deodorant isn’t really needed. Eat some garlic, onions, or any plant really and the odor comes back though.
@Choppodong1@amit32883 Ya this is not correct. Professionals and recreationals are equally affected by the new law, many people are in for a rude awakening when they file taxes this year if they aren’t already aware of this. I’m surprised numbers at wsop aren’t down more.
@villi Why not just source better pork from a regenerative farm who treats their animals well? Agree with stopping support for industrial animal farming, but doesn’t mean you have to stop eating meat. Many farmers actually care about their animals.
@1Casual0bserver@Giibii187@SBakerMD@Wendys Most of them are pretty lean compared to what I normally eat lol. McDonald’s are usually so dry I add butter to them. High fat isn’t bad, but high fat and high carb is, I don’t eat many carbs (just order the patties).
@Giibii187@SBakerMD@Wendys Pretty much every single chain in the us will sell you patties alone. Sometimes you’ll get a store that won’t, but I travel a lot and have ordered from like the top 10 chains and they all can do it.
The secret to living to 100?
HIGH CHOLESTEROL
A massive Swedish study tracking over 800,000 people for 35 years just revealed: Every single centenarian had HIGH total cholesterol. The higher your LDL, the longer you live.
