Why has #Suriname 🇸🇷 become important to me?

First, there’s @MayaPar25 . She has a crystal-clear vision of how #Suriname 🇸🇷 can become a free country. She’s determined, she’s a fighter, and she’s proud of her beautiful homeland. After the elections in May '25, her goal is to separate money from the state using #Bitcoin, drastically reduce bureaucracy, promote the free market, and free the country from corruption and fiat money. Amazing for #Suriname 🇸🇷— this is the future!

I live in the EU, in Germany. After the last election, it has become absolutely clear to me that Germany’s decline is now unstoppable. I still remember the ‘70s and ‘80s, when Germany had a thriving free market economy, was the world’s export champion for years, and built up enormous prosperity. We were proud of the "Made in Germany" seal, and we had a few great decades. But those days are over. Increasing censorship, growing bureaucracy, rising taxes, a shrinking economy, a collapsing healthcare system, growing war rhetoric, brain drain—and politicians who refuse to change course. That’s the reality now.

I’m a Boomer, and I’ve been asking myself for a while now whether I really want to spend the rest of my life in a country like this. I’ve long since started looking for a place where things are improving, where there’s hope and freedom, where the state doesn’t interfere in everything, where people can speak their minds, and where people of all cultures live together in peace. That’s when #Suriname 🇸🇷 and @MayaPar25 came onto my radar last year.

If this transformation succeeds, then #Suriname 🇸🇷 wins — and I’m coming! With this shift, there will be plenty of work to do in the country, and I have no intention of just sitting back and doing nothing. I’m sure there will be countless opportunities to contribute my knowledge and experience.

As I get older, health becomes more important. In Germany, I feel trapped in a healthcare system dominated by Big Pharma. Right now, the system will pay for anything that generates profit, but real alternatives have no chance and remain widely unknown to the public. I’ve always been skeptical of this system and constantly look for alternatives. To me, nature holds the real answers — it knows best what is right and wrong. And #Suriname 🇸🇷 has a major advantage here.

The country has vast, untouched nature, full of plants and fruits I’ve never even heard of. Deep in the forests of #Suriname 🇸🇷, people have been using nature for their health for thousands of years. I’m beyond curious to learn from their knowledge and experience.

I truly hope @MayaPar25 has the strength and support she needs to make this transformation happen. The amazing people of beautiful #Suriname 🇸🇷 deserve it. And maybe, in the end, it could even become a new home for me.

The People Gather: A Movement Begins

Today, the streets of Suriname were alive with the sound of history in the making. In a powerful display of unity and purpose, the Nationale Partij Suriname (NPS) registered for the May 25, 2025, general elections—not as just another political party, but as a movement determined to reclaim the future of the nation. 🇸🇷

Under a sea of green flags, with chants of hope and determination filling the air, the party marched to the electoral office. It was not just a formality. It was the first signal to the people: the fight for Suriname’s future has begun.

Understanding the Electoral Road Ahead

Suriname’s political process is unique. Today’s registration marks the official start of the campaign, but the real battle will take shape over the coming months.
•March 25, 2025 – This is when the candidate selection takes place. Each political party will officially announce its 51 candidates who will run for seats in the National Assembly (Parliament). These individuals are not just names on a list; they represent the vision, policies, and leadership that will shape Suriname for the next five years.
•March 25 to May 25, 2025 – The intensive campaign period begins. Candidates will take their message directly to the people—door to door, neighborhood to neighborhood—as they fight to secure votes. Unlike in many countries where parties focus solely on mass media, in Suriname, elections are won both in the streets and online. It’s about personal connections, direct engagement, and mobilizing communities to vote.
•May 25, 2025 – Election Day. The people will decide the future of the nation. The goal? To win at least 26 seats, securing a parliamentary majority and the ability to govern decisively.

A Turning Point in History

Standing before a journalist in the midst of the registration celebrations, I was asked how I felt about the turnout. I looked around at the faces of the people—young and old, hopeful yet determined. It was amazing. But this is more than just a show of strength. This is a revolution in the making.

For 14 years, those in power have shown us what they can do. They took a nation once stable and devalued its currency from 2.8 to 35 SRD per US dollar. Corruption became the norm. The situation for ordinary people grew worse, not better. But now, it is our turn. Now, we will show them how a country should be led.

This election is not just about winning votes—it’s about restoring dignity, prosperity, and fairness to Suriname. It is about proving that a nation does not belong to its corrupt elite, but to its people.

As the registration concluded, the atmosphere remained electric. This was just the beginning. Now, we build. Now, we ramp up. And on May 25, we make history.
