UPDATE: European demand for gold ETFs is accelerating sharply, signaling a growing shift toward defensive assets.
Cumulative year to date inflows from the UK, France, and Germany have surged to 125 tonnes, with buying momentum intensifying since August as sovereign bond yields, fiscal sustainability concerns, and geopolitical uncertainty weigh on investor sentiment.
Meanwhile, U.S. gold ETF flows have recovered to approximately 15 tonnes after falling to nearly -100 tonnes earlier this year. European investors have therefore emerged as a significant driver of incremental gold demand, with the UK leading the advance.
The macroeconomic signal is clear that investors are increasingly treating gold as a strategic hedge against fiscal instability, geopolitical fragmentation, and broader financial market risk. $GLD $SGLN

NEWS UPDATE: The concentration of U.S. equity markets in AI related mega caps has reached a historic extreme.
The “AI Big 10” now represent a record 42% of total U.S. equity market capitalization more than double their share at the 2022 bear market low.
For historical context, TMT peaked at roughly 41% during the 2000 dot com bubble, the Nifty Fifty at 40% in the 1970s, and Japan’s equity market at 44% during its 1980s bubble.
The economic significance is clear that U.S. equity performance has become unusually dependent on a small group of AI driven megacaps, making concentration risk increasingly important.

.@SecScottBessent: “The reason we had this crippling inflation under the Democrats was they created a demand shock, but then the regulatory state constricted supply. What President Trump has done is create a private-sector demand shock with tax policy, energy policy, and trade policy—but we have cut regulation. For every new regulation, we have cut 120. So we have created supply.”
