Ban Ki-moon, then secretary-general of the United Nations, commented on how, in his visits to some of the most forgotten areas of the world, there was a common factor: the presence of Cuban doctors.
“They are always the first to arrive and the last to leave.”
This headline is a blatant lie. Reuters claims in the headline that Cuba is ending Visa and MasterCard transactions. Then, in the second paragraph, you see what really happened. Cuba isn't doing anything.
The U.S. is doing it with sanctions.
That's called burying the lede and it should be considered misinformation. Putting it later in the article, after the clickbait headline, gives them plausible deniability. But we all know most people don't read. They react. Editors at Reuters know this too.

The Trump administration says that Cuba poses a national security threat to the most powerful country in the world. We examine the six claims used to justify this narrative — and why they fall apart under scrutiny.

Trump and Rubio are pulling straight from the imperialists' playbook to justify another unauthorized and unlawful military invasion–just as they did in Venezuela and Iran.
The administration will continue to claim that their actions serve the freedom of Cubans, but history has shown us that peace and democracy has never been realized through U.S. imperialism or unilateral military intervention.
🚨 Warning: distressful content!
Those genocidal maniacs RAPED humanitarian activist trying to take food and medicine to children in Gaza! And the worst is that even this they escalate to much worse forms with the 9000 Palestinians in israeli dungeons (almost 400 children)!
Fidel Castro explains why the US despises Cuba and is desperate to destroy it: "Our country does not drop bombs on other people, nor does it send thousands of planes to bomb cities. Instead our country sends doctors to those most lost corners of the world."
cuba has never been a threat to the us. it’s only threat was being a successful alternative. a country that fought & won its own sovereignty and dignity. we starved them for that & never stopped. between this and the nyt funding piece, we’re manufacturing consent for war.

#Cuba denounces before the @WHO the intensified U.S. blockade, which has an enormous humanitarian impact, particularly in the healthcare sector.
Added to this is a real threat of military aggression.
Such threats, and the collective punishment to which the Cuban people are subjected, constitute a flagrant violation of International Law, International Humanitarian Law, and the Charter of the @ONU_es.

On May 17, during the program “The Weekend Primetime” on @MSNOWNews, I denounced the false campaign promoted by high-ranking officials in the U.S. government, who have repeatedly claimed that Cuba poses an unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security because #Cuba maintains cooperative relations with third countries.
“Cuba does not pose a threat to U.S. national security. Not in the past, not in the present, and not in the future.” That was my unequivocal response to the journalists.
Cuba’s relations with countries around the world seek only the mutual benefit of the parties involved. In no way do they pose a threat to U.S. national security. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying.
I denounced the baseless attempts to fabricate a pretext to justify a military aggression against Cuba. I reiterated our commitment to peace, but also our unequivocal determination to defend ourselves against the aggressor and safeguard the independence and sovereignty that have cost so much sacrifice to achieve.
I condemned in the strongest terms the collective punishment against the Cuban people that constitutes the U.S. blockade, reinforced by the total cutoff of fuel supplies; and I reiterated our willingness to engage in respectful and civilized dialogue with the United States, based on respect for differences, equal footing, non-interference in Cuba’s internal affairs, and full respect for our sovereignty and independence.
