Someone please explain why it’s 2024 and I still can’t leave a group chat on my Mac. I can block the chat on my iPhone, but the messages still come through to my Mac and the only thing I can do is hide the alerts.
@bikelakecity@cyclingutah@lukegarrott@slcmoves Yeah, the downhill bike lane on 200 S literally goes onto the sidewalk and through a bus stop in at least 2 places. Who decided that was a good idea??
@bikelakecity That’s what I’m afraid of. The bike lane was already in the door zone, now it’s even worse. TBD, but I’ll be shocked if the parking is removed. I don’t think that’s gonna happen.
@bikelakecity We should have a nice straight path for bikes with crossing guard arms that swing down just like the cars get. It still surprises me to see the disparity between the lengths we go to accommodate cars and the way we design bike paths
@ZombieHedgehog_ But for prints where you don’t need to optimize for strength, it’s nice to know you can get away with taller layers. It would be interesting to see a how those two parts fared in a stress test!
@ZombieHedgehog_ Have you seen this article? My understanding is generally you can print layer heights that are 25%-80% of the nozzle widths. But this article found a significant loss of strength at layer heights greater than 50% of nozzle width.

@ZombieHedgehog_ I regularly swap between 0.15, 0.25. 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1mm Revo nozzles (mostly in the 0.25-0.6 range). When I swap to a 0.6mm nozzle, it’s for larger, faster prints where I don’t need the detail of a 0.4mm nozzle.
@bikelakecity@ranch2709 Yeah, I take the bus lane heading west / downhill (or I suppose the actual car lane if there was a bus stopped at the bus stop)
@bikelakecity@ranch2709 In a similar vein, at 500 E and 600 E, the bike lane goes up onto the sidewalk through a bus stop on the north side of the street. I don’t understand how we ended up with that design. No way I’m riding up onto the sidewalk through a bus stop when I’m going 25 mph+ downhill.
This is a huge benefit I get from living in cohousing. I have close friends who are 30+ years older than me and friends who are 5+ years younger than me.
By 28 you should have at least one *close* friend who’s 10 years older than you and one who is 5 years younger than you to hedge against generational ignorance
@zoobiebrothers Check if your local stores will let you bring your bike in and use it as a shopping cart! Most of the major stores in SLC do - Trader Joe’s, Target, Winco, Smith’s, Home Depot, Lowe’s, NPS. No more leaving my bike locked outside and worrying about it getting stolen
@HeyItsTor420@Voron_Design Definitely BFI and inverted electronics. Also dual color mesh skirts (but don’t forget to leave a hole open for a deck panel lever!), bed fans, nevermore mini, clickyclack door, pins mod. Big fan of the Annex Engineering cable channels too https://t.co/VgTDwVtVty
@ZombieHedgehog_@Polymaker_3D Are you happy with the 3 temperature settings (vs a selectable specific temperature) and lack of a temperature indicator?
