My 91-year-old father is a retired @USAirForce Lt. Colonel with 26 years of service and two combat tours in Vietnam.

For SEVEN MONTHS, @DFAS_mil has completely withheld his retirement pay because a joint bank account was closed after my mother passed away. I have submitted 5 separate support tickets with all legal Power of Attorney paperwork. DFAS continues to stall with insulting excuses—including rejecting a certified doctor's letter because it wasn't addressed to "To Whom It May Concern."

My dad has had zero income since February. He faces imminent food insecurity, loss of property and the lapse of his life insurance. Will launch an emergency Congressional Inquiry with @Rep_Grijalva first thing tomorrow.

Photo attached is dad in a B52 loaded with 2 nukes circling Soviet air space 24 hrs on, 24 hrs off for 13 straight days of Cuban Missile Crisis. The man is a fountain of cold war military history and would love to talk to you. Lots of story here. Major, major contributor to our country's security.

I know you care about the treatment of our military.

My 91yo father - 26 years in the @usairforce 2 combat tours in Viet Nam - has had his retirement pay frozen because we closed a bank account when my mother passed.

For 7 months, DFAS (Defense Finance and Accounting Service) stalls and has only offered excuses. I am his POA. It's my responsibility to fix it. I have called every agency I can find only to be told: "Talk to DFAS". This morning I filed for Congressional Inquiry with @Rep_Grijalva.

We are desperate. My dad faces food insecurity, loss of home and life insurance.

I have no where to turn but to the press and to vet advocates who can use their voices to amplify this issue.

Anything you can do would be a blessing to our family.
