@MIsimeli Babies can be born fine and within weeks start to develop illnesses and then by which HIV is diagnosed. Baby is found to be positive and then mothers are found to be positive as well. Because at booking she was negative.

If positive go on medications early to suppress the virus and not pass it on ;

If late booker ; birth plans to be made - getting baby instantly on prophylaxis; early testing etc
