It's not an exaggeration to say that Canadians enjoyed better rail, airline and bus service in the 1980's than we do today. And not just passenger service.

For example, I sent show dogs by air cargo to Texas, California, and Pennsylvania from Saskatoon - AND BACK - in the 1980's. Today, you can scarcely find a direct flight to Toronto.
