Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?
This is the Cactus Club in Langley this morning. Last night there was a shooting there, and people were hurt.
That makes three in four days. On Friday a tourist was shoved into traffic in Chinatown. Sunday night a man was stabbed in the neck at Main and Hastings. Then this.
For years, David Eby and the NDP have told us that leaving someone in psychosis on a sidewalk is the compassionate thing to do. I've never bought it. Compassion would have been getting that person into care. Instead we have a province where people check over their shoulder at the bus stop.
Here's what we'll do.
โ Put more police in the neighbourhoods that are hit hardest.
โ Get people in severe addiction crisis into care, instead of leaving them on the street.
โ Shut down the so-called safe supply that ends up on street corners and in the hands of kids.
โ Hire 1,000 more police, prosecutors, judges and support staff so repeat offenders face real consequences.
And we'll publish the numbers, so you can judge for yourself whether your neighbourhood is actually getting safer.
Strong leadership for serious times.
This isnโt Trump. And it certainly isnโt Musk.
Friends, this modest woman is MacKenzie Scott.
She is the former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, one of the wealthiest women in the world โ and also one of its most generous.
Since the very beginning of Russiaโs full-scale invasion, she has supported Ukraine. Not just with words, but with real action.
In March 2022, during those terrifying first weeks of the war, she donated $10 MILLION to help Ukrainian refugees.
Ten million dollars.
And that was just one contribution among many.
That same month, she donated $3.8 BILLION to 465 nonprofit organizations, several of which were also involved in helping Ukrainians.
Since 2019, she has given away more than $26.3 BILLION to charitable causes.
Just think about the scale of that. These numbers are almost impossible to comprehend.
And yet there are no grand speeches, no endless self-promotion, no attempts to turn generosity into a personal PR campaign.
She has written that she wants the focus to be not on wealthy donors, but on the people and organizations actually fighting injustice โ on those who need help, rather than those who give it.
That says a great deal about a person.
MacKenzie Scott has shown that extraordinary wealth can also come with extraordinary generosity. โค๏ธ
Thank you, Ms. Scott.
Thank you for every dollar that has helped Ukrainians.
Thank you for your compassion, your generosity, and your humanity.
Thank you from me โ and from Ukrainians everywhere. ๐บ๐ฆ๐ซ
@MusicJim2 Just like we look back on Mozart Bach Beethoven we will look back at these poet/rock and roll savants for 100โs of years. Their music will carry the world in the absence of music of today

Be Case Keenum.
> Grow up in West Texas. Two-star recruit. One scholarship offer.
> Take it. Rewrite the NCAA record book at Houston.
> Marry your high school sweetheart, the girl you took out for snow cones before any of this started.
> Go undrafted anyway.
> Spend your rookie season on the practice squad.
> Get cut. Get claimed. Get traded. Start over.
> Get your chance in Minnesota when the starter gets hurt.
> Throw the Minneapolis Miracle.
> Help take the Vikings within one win of the Super Bowl.
> Keep moving after that, too.
> Eight franchises. Different jerseys. Different playbooks. Another chance to prove you belong.
> Through all those moves, keep building a life with the girl.
> The girl from the snow-cone date becomes the mother of your two children.
> Spend years preparing for opportunities that rarely come.
> Go 1,009 days without a start.
> Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. Stay ready.
> Then, at 38, get the call. Chicago needs you.
> Walk onto Monday Night Football.
> Throw two touchdowns. Run for another. Beat the Eagles 27โ7.
> Do it with both your kids watching you play in person for the first time.
> Finish the night on SportsCenter with your little girl beside you.
All those years. All those moves. All those Sundays waiting for a chance.
And when this one finally comes, you fucking crush it with your kids looking on.
Imagine what that feels like.
There are a lot of ways to teach your children to keep going.
Letting them watch you do it has to be one of the best.
Absolute legend! ๐ซก
