On Tuesday, the Election Commission said all was well:
The 14 objections by two of its three members were "suggestions," every decision was "unanimous."
With in 48 hours, on Saturday, it issued NINE decisions. Read them against the 14 notes. It's a U-TURN, not in what it says, but in what it does.
And it still leaves some hard Qs unanswered.
Stay with me.

Due credits to @RitikaChopra__ , @DaminiNath and @IndianExpress, if it weren’t for them, CEC Gyanesh Kumar would have bulldozed his way in the multi-member ECI.
Almost all the objections raised by the two ECs, SS Sandhu and Vivek Joshi have been accepted by CEC Gyanesh Kumar including Form 6, functioning of ECINET and work allocation.
This is the strength of journalism and the beauty of democracy.
Yesterday, @IndianExpress reported an unprecedented rupture inside the Election Commission: TWO of its three members objecting on record, 14 times in 10 months, to decisions taken without their knowledge.
Today, the second part of our investigation looks at the concern Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi flagged most often: Who really controls our electoral rolls?
We followed that question to Goa, where we found something deeply concerning.

This has gone too far now. The case against the CEC is now devastating. Even so, he is innocent until proven guilty
But elections are too crucial to our democracy for them to be clouded by mistrust & suspicion. Not one opposition party trusts this CEC. Nor do many Indians
If the CEC cares about democracy then he should do the honourable thing & step down . There is no need for him to admit any guilt. He should say he is resigning to avoid the controversy.
If he clings on to his job it can only be because he wants to subvert the system & destroy the credibility of the electoral process
And make sure that his mentors win elections
The Election Commission of India is under fire like never before.
The SIR has struck 13 crore names off draft rolls, putting the EC at the centre of intense public debate over its role in deciding who gets to vote — and who doesn’t.
HOWEVER, what nobody knew: through that same period, some of the sharpest questions were being asked from inside.
Out today, after months of work. Our #ExpressInvestigation 🧵

Our ambition for Amaravati is not merely to build a great capital, but to set a new benchmark for livability in India. A city that is green, efficient, inclusive and designed around the quality of everyday life. A city that proves world-class urban living is not a distant ideal - India can build it, and Amaravati will show how.
Pleased to see this vision featured in The New York Times. Our goal is ambitious, but it is achievable. Amaravati must become an example for the nation.

The opportunity for a Dubai-style city is already here. It's called Amravati.
No other Indian CM has the vision, pent-up hunger and execution like Chandrababu Naidu.
For the sake of India, I hope he succeeds.

“Why should Andhra Pradesh build expensive data centres for Google when profits flow to Mountain View?”
I have seen it in many replies to my Polavaram water thread. Let me answer it honestly, what the real benefits are, what is missing, and how AP captures maximum local value.
Part 2 🧵
Buildings and institutions allocated on geographical basis.
Loans divided on population basis.
Shared capital for 10 years but no revenue sharing for Andhra.
Blocks allocated to AP govt post separation
This gaslighting batch think playing victim is their sole right.
The @naralokesh data centre water debate has everyone arguing past each other.
“Data centres will drain Andhra Pradesh dry. There is no environmental flow after water allocation”
I have seen these wrong claims everywhere this week. I am a water resources engineer from IIT Bombay. I did my master’s thesis on Polavaram and just finished a 29 year daily simulation of the reservoir. Let me show you what the Godavari actually does with its water every year. 🧵 (1/15)
₹3,000 crore invested.
600 MW completed.
Built in a record 11 months.
SAEL’s mega solar project will be inaugurated on May 22 in Rayalaseema.
