In October 2022, two young children, a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old, were k*lled by their family’s two pit bulls in Shelby County, Tennessee.

Their mother, Kirstie Bennard, was critically injured during a 10-minute struggle to protect them.

The dogs had been with the family for eight years without previous incident, they were euthanized by animal control shortly after.

Bennard survived the attack with extensive physical injuries.
