The white complex that shows a tightness in the short term is reality showing its bearish face in the second half of the year. Spreads going back to carry and white premiums dropping below $100. Good crop in EU, and capped access will make Ukraine being a cheap alternative source
@HedgeSugar It’s a carry market in 2024 already in Australia. The way that KN behaves is a clear indicative that there is a lack of receivership with another massive crop in Brazil and balancesheets in surplus.
Coucou!
Looks great to deliver in LDN the min quantity in China no @HedgeSugar and @NotWilmarSugar ?
K24 in NY might be even more telling to the market.
Not only India might have a positive weather impact in South Asia, Thailand might as well came next season to increase the surplus in the west hemi.
Bonne chance bulls…
2024/25 Thailand cane production to jump to 100/115 Mt based on normal weather conditions till December – Sugar production to increase by 2.5 Mt yoy to 11 Mt
23/24 : crop ends as per our forecast but above market consensus at 82.3 Mt of cane and 8.7 Mt of sugar.
24/25 : Sugarcane returns are expected better than cassava by around $250/ha (equivalent $ 4-5 per ton of cane). Farmers are maximizing cane replanting. Our models show sugarcane cultivation area trend to increase by more than 10%. Cane yields should come back to average and be above 60 t/ ha. This will lead to 24/25 Thailand sugarcane of more than 100 million Mt with an upside to 115 Mt . Sugar production to jump by 2.5 M tons YoY , from 8.7 Mt , to more than 11 Mt .
@NotWilmarSugar People might have a surprise with how cane is resilient and might be too late when they realize CS will be above 620M tons of cane and with a sizable increase in the mix this season the Sugar output will easily top 42M tons.
