I am disappointed to learn that Ugandans evacuated from xenophobic attacks are forcibly taken to Kyankwanzi and currently undergoing a mandatory political training at NRM brainwashing centre, their bags and passports have also been confiscated. This is unacceptable!!!

“They were telling me Anita should resign. Resign and go where? I was put in this chair by God and I will serve for ten years and then my brother Tayebwa will take over after me,” Anita Annet Among in 2023

The role of the media is to inform, not to please those in power. Closing @ntvuganda and @DailyMonitor outlets and censoring their journalists has no place in a democratic society. #IstandWithNTV

I decided to do this video in Luganda because after reading the comments on my previous post, I realized this isn’t just my experience or that of Masanafu community. Many people are sharing similar complaints about the money they are asked to pay whenever the @UEDCLTD team comes to restore power.
The team responded by sharing their toll-free number and asked us to report such cases so they can investigate. But the reality is that people are exhausted by endless investigations. Every day we hear about investigations into different issues, yet many never lead to accountability or justice.
If these charges are official, communicate them clearly to the public. If they are not, then take decisive action against those demanding money from customers.
People are already struggling financially with other problems . When electricity develops a fault, they shouldn’t have to negotiate or pay unofficial fees just to receive a service that is part of the team’s responsibility.
Kindly help me share this video until it reaches the relevant authorities and this issue is addressed.
This was Hon. Miria Matembe pleading with the Magistrate to allow her to go for treatment for her back. "At least Amin used to shoot you, po! But this kind of breaking......." She said.
For context, this senior citizen was one of the eminent Ugandans who traversed this country seeking views on the 1995 Constitution! As I saw her crying out, I couldn't help but imagine what was going on in her mind. Mulimba mutufuze bubi nnyo!

Buganda has been like this since 1200z! You might not like it, even if you live there, but there’s a lot we can learn from it to build a stronger, united, and prosperous Uganda. Remember, Buganda doesn’t collect any taxes. Let Ugandans be led by leaders of their own choice, and you’ll see the difference. ✔️
This video is from October, 2021 as late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya displayed his rotting feet to court, in the hope that he could appeal to the humanity of the judicial officer to release him on bail so as to seek better medication. Sadly, court wasn't moved! Hon. Ssegirinya would be kept under detention until 2023 - by which time his health had completely deteriorated. A few months down the road, we lost him.
Today's video of former Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago pleading with the Magistrate to be released so as to get better medical attention is very difficult to watch. Followed by an adjournment of 10 days! A man in that state? You would assume that the Ssegirinya situation taught all of us - and especially the judicial officers, a lesson in kindness, in humanness. Sad.
