@clark_aviation I just got a train ticket for the trip to Army selection and another one for getting to Phase 1 training, no booklets or other fancy stuff.
@bierkonceagain@MilitaryBanter Head of the armed forces told his gold fishes third dogs nephews cat who told the CO of the 12th Bn, Biffshire Regt, who told my aunties budgerigar who told my walls who told me.
@armyflying If I’ve got my camp layout right that’s now the community centre, opposite what was the library when I went through training but is now the phase 2 bar?
@armyflying @plane_richie You’re asking the impossible, although if I was to say Lynx it would only be for the AH.1 and Mk.7 because skids and analogue are the way forward.
@MilitaryBanter Now put him in a GS peak cap, SD tunic,‘08 pattern webbing, Regimental tartan, puttees and hob nail ankle boots and give him a Lee Enfield and he’ll be proper ally.
@armyflying Sioux AH.1 going off the very small horizontal strip of yellow tape visible on the window.
HAAF going off the hangar interior and Beaver AL.2 visible through the window.
@clark_aviation I much prefer the painted artwork of old model kit boxing over the current digital stuff. The computer generated artwork just lacks some things in my opinion.
@opsnormal1957@ArmyAirCorps @armyflying @HistoricFlt Steve Petts probably has a wealth of tales on operational flying, he’d done around 34 years service c.2016-2017 and spent most of his career flying one thing or another.
@clark_aviation Apart from Wildcat all the helicopters I worked on are now mostly scrapped, in use as fire training aids, gate guards or museum pieces if not privately owned or in use for some other purpose in airworthy condition.
@MilitaryBanter Sudden passing of rock bottom morale and potential increase in DASOR worthy accidents among AAC ground-crew as they practically run on energy drinks.
