One year ago it was obvious - Vector data type and Similarity Search sooner or later will come to the Oracle Database, enabling us to use RAG. My recommendation was and still is - learn the basics about LLMs, Vectors, RAG...

I certainly learned a lot in this past year and Oracle did bring the Vectors into the database indeed. But we are privileged to have this feature alongside an already mature relational database! With no new fancy syntax to learn, no additional libraries or environments - straight into to your relational data tables!
