This is the face of a man who climbed the ladder of affirmative action to his present perch of power only to help destroy the very ladder on which he ascended. This is not only the mark of deep ingratitude & disavowal of history, but a withering betrayal of justice & democracy.

“Nothing in nature lives for itself.

Rivers don't drink their own water.

Trees don't eat their own fruit.

Sun doesn't give heat for itself.

Flowers don't spread fragrance for themselves.

Living for others is the rule of nature. And therein lies the secret of living.”

[Ben Crump @AttorneyCrump]

Exactly. The misconception that affirmative action meant unqualified people have been admitted into college solely because of their race was never true and is quite frankly an ignorant interpretation. Thank you @joyannreid for setting the record straight and sharing your truth!

[Michael Steele @MichaelSteele]

Affirmative Action asks schools to consider race as A factor in student admissions, so Black student population at elite institutions must be AMAZING!

Well...
Harvard 6.6%
Yale 6.5%
Brown 7.0%
Princeton 4.7%
Columbia 5.1%
Cornell 5.0%

I can see why folks want to get rid of it.

Happy Birthday to the late civil rights activist, Baba Kwame Ture aka Stokely Carmichael.

“We are saying that there is a system that allows for one or two Black people to get out and that's the rationale for keeping other Black people down.”

Good Friday- today we honor the tremendous suffering of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It is called Good Friday because goodness incarnate sacrificed Himself & showed us that we find real love, real goodness in sacrificial love. Let us seek to follow Jesus’s example & share His Joy.

Yet another pacific weather system to bring an atmospheric river (Pineapple Express on steroids) to California later this week. That’s going to be interesting on top of the snow pack. This level of precipitation in this region is just not normal. The new climate is already here.

In both cases, the same basic action was taken: a library book wasn’t returned.

But, intuitively, we all view those two scenarios differently. And fortunately, so does the law when it comes to something like the possession of classified documents.
