The Federal Government has announced the suspension of evaluation and accreditation of degree certificates from Benin Republic and Togo.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday, January 2, signed by Augustina Obilor-Duru on behalf of the Director Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education.

According to the Duru, the decision followed an investigative report by Daily Nigerian Newspaper titled “UNDERCOVER: How DAILY NIGERIAN reporter bagged Cotonou varsity degree in 6 weeks” published last week. By @Theumar_audu

The federal government lamented that “some Nigerians deploy nefarious means and unconscionable methods to get a Degree with the end objective of getting graduate job opportunities for which they are not qualified”.

According to the statement, the suspension persists pending the outcome of an investigation involving the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education of Nigeria and the two countries as well as the Department of State Security Services (DSS), and the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC).

My answer: Because i am interested in Nigerian project. I used to be a critic but later realized that i was naive. I didn’t even understand what governance is all about. And i asked myself. What if i am given a responsibility today? Am i ready to take it and discharge? This question prompted me to read and write about everything happening in Nigeria to the best of my understanding. And Twitter is the best space to do so because when you need full understanding of everything just write it on Twitter. You will get even what you dont ask because of the quality of people here.

And I advise our young people to do the same. We shout it’s youth o’clock but we dont know the basics of governance in relation to our socio-economic, political and societal parameters. How then can we do things differently from the old that know about the parameters much more than us?

I have never posted anything here without learning more about it from the interactions. Twitter is the home of check and balance, internal and external audit. And twitter community can only be influenced by quality content.
