• meh. Only here for fictional characters 🧘

[shadae @softambrollins]

it is a HOBBY. ffs. you're supposed to get enjoyment from the hobby. creating is supposed to make you happy. fanfiction is not an industry; it does not need to be 'sustainable.'

i think some of you are too young to remember the “I don’t own *original IP* or the characters. All rights belong to the creator. I gain no profit from this body of work.” disclaimer that was copy-pasted onto the start of every fanfic. bc wdym you think you “own” your fanfic 😭

[Iza @ chilean yaoi retweeter @izariez_]

me tienen hasta el pico así que decidí hacer un drive de la gente culiá g-z quejándose de que "no les gusta que descarguen sus fics" en la página de descarga de fics, para que los puedan bloquear de acá y ao3 cuando vuelva

ok ao3 “authors” next time your friend asks you to borrow the book you’re reading, tell them it’s actually extremely wrong to share books with others and tell them to go buy the book to give the author more money. then threaten to sue them and see how that goes.

WHAT TO DO WHILE AO3 IS DOWN - MASTERPOST

i am adding every google drive of every ship i can find (with a direct link to the author of the drive obviously) as well as two options for you to find other ships not listed. just open this document: https://t.co/HEtfVP4DJ5

[🦋Thay🦋 @ThayIsTired]

I feel like some AO3 writers would be happier if they just...wrote original stories and posted them on Patreon or self-published on Amazon.

This gatekeeping, engagenebt obsessed mindset has no place in fandom spaces.

[gawa 🫩 anti macron @SPLover1863]

Thats the consequences of :
1) normies getting into fan activities and thinking everything has to cater to their needs
2) ppl who migrated from Wattpad, thinking the A of AO3 stands for attention seeker
3) ppl writing for kudos and not bc they genuinely like writing

it's fascinating how the internet has moved on from everything being open source and pirating being encouraged to whatever this is lmao
