@mbolotnikova Seems like some take issue with calling it "Israel-Gaza". But the way Israel is destroying Gaza makes it feel appropriate. Many Israeli officials are keeping their very pubic promises uttered to that very effect. No evidence of destroyed Hamas, only mountains of Gazan corpses.

But calling apartheid and illegal settlements "mistreatment" sounds just as obnoxious as would calling 10/7 "mistreatment". Denying apartheid and oppressive occupation is just as absurd as denying 10/7.

To be crystal clear, unlike the Gaza Strip, where Hamas is 100% to blame, there is genuine Israeli mistreatment of Palestinians in the West Bank.

It should be possible to condemn and critique the mistreatment without resorting to hyperbole.

1/3 Amazingly, but not surprisingly, some in the movement – if not exactly rejoicing – are already at least expressing contentment with the outcome of the @SonomaTrial simply because they have issues with Wayne/@DxEverywhere. Seen two overt instances of this so far already.

@DxEverywhere @SonomaTrial I've gotten an answer for the first question: apparently it's 20 *court* days. So it's lawful.

For the second question, I suppose the only logical outcome is it won't be pro se, he'll have other representation.

@DxEverywhere @SonomaTrial I just read on a law page that in California, a felony verdict sentencing hearing is required to be scheduled within 20 days. This is 29 days. How is that possible? Further, how can Wayne prepare for the sentencing hearing in jail?

@OurCompass @SonomaTrial Neither favors nor hurts really. It simply leaves the door open for the state to try the case again. Whether they actually do or not is anyone's guess, but of course will depend on the seriousness of the crime and/or the pressure on them to prosecute it.

@OurCompass @SonomaTrial Completely up to the judge how long to force the jury to continue, even if in the actual room they are doing nothing but telling each other jokes or playing hangman and charades. It's up to the judge when to consider it a lost cause and declare mistrial.
