The trials from this tool show good results in reducing inequalities in perinatal deaths. We look forward to the results from the pilots @ProfBasky, @Tommys, @RCObsGyn, and @MidwivesRCM, @StGeorgesTrust, @StGeorgesUni.

What a summer! Great work by our medical student colleague Vicky illuminating how we should communicate risk....100 icon arrays seems to be both understood and preferred. So much more to learn but we're off to a great start! Thanks @Options_Study

When you come home to exciting post ☺️. So pleased and grateful to be part of the obstetric medicine body. A huge thank you to @FranNeubes for all your support and wisdom this last year, alongside the wider NBT team @MaternalNbt
Next week I start my @DDEA_Denmark visiting professorship @AarhusUni 🙂😬🤓
This webinar will showcase some of the work that I will be doing so feel free to join myself and @HT_Maindal on Nov 20th 🤰🤱👩👧👦📆 @UCD_Research https://t.co/QHV6mKSX3N
Current system is a huge waste of talent, time and future potential. It doesn't have to be this way.
Clinical academics in training often think they are only a success if win the 'big fellowships but with nuanced institutional and programme support, talent can stay @acmedsci
Another clinical academic friend (Dr who does teaching and research alongside NHS work) is moving into a solely clinical post
Clinical academics are not nurtured in the UK, despite longer training (10+ yrs after medschool) and over-delivering for their universities and hospitals
An evening celebrating the contribution of @paulmannix85 to the @RCObsGyn@BMFMSNews Management of the LW course - we think now in its 24th year! Organising faculty past, present and future?! #MLW24 Thank you Paul - the final course with a member of the founding faculty.
A worrying trend: Number of FTE obstetricians & gynaecologists working as clinical academics has declined between 2005 & 2023. <2% of UK nursing & midwifery workforce engaged in research in 2022. Who will research to improve care?

Really important graph, thanks @SandsUK. I think current @NIHRresearch training structures are made for 5-to-6 year training programmes, not 7-to-8 (esp where the training is top-heavy, as in paeds/O&G SST). Hard to navigate post-PhD in my experience.
I am excited our @acematernity study paper is published. Our survey of antenatal educators identifies that we don't adequately prepare women for labour and birth, and there are disparities in access. Standardisation is needed. https://t.co/D41kwssKft
We all want to provide high quality personalised care - but without the necessary increase in staff numbers it leaves staff overworked and stressed. @BICSoc@LivUniResearch@LiverpoolWomens@NIHRresearch https://t.co/3k4XlHasK6
