A 24-year-old Honduran illegal immigrant allegedly broke into a 77-year-old woman's Florida home at 4 a.m., sexually battered her, slapped her when she tried to escape, then chased her down and choked her when she ran for the front door.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd ripped into the suspect, calling him a "very violent, very dangerous rapist" whose actions were "graphically very vile and out of control." Judd said the case is "one of the most horrific crimes that we've seen in this county in a very long time."

Axel Antonio Espinal Herrera now faces kidnapping, sexual battery by force, burglary, battery, tampering with evidence, and cocaine possession charges.
