Ignoring for the moment the entire hamlet of Burlingham Green has been without phone or b/b for 14 days due to @BT_Openreach reluctance to shin up a pole, this latest is a beauty. The whole system could fail?
Concerns thousands of older and vulnerable Norfolk people could be put at risk because telephone landlines are to be axed have been raised in Parliament. https://t.co/vu6MiExLew 👇 Full story
@FlowerdewBob Noted, thank you. I may venture some hideously expensive nematode treatment (there’s a lot of box) this year, but fear for it, long term.
Aaaargh… a visitor says my boxhedges have boxmoth attack - found 2 caterpillars. Hedges are 90cm high, 50 thick. Don’t like spray generally, could any spray could effectively penetrate that to get to the problem? Cutback hard before? @FlowerdewBob
How many innocent #animals risk their lives to cross this stretch of road to reach further habitat on the other side on a daily basis? A lot more forethought and planning could have ensured a safer passage for #wildlife👇#WildlifeBridges
During a 4 hour drive through #France, I saw 8 bridges built specifically for #wildlife, to enable a safe passage from one habitat to another. The UK is so far behind in terms of animal road safety, it’s unreal. Not one dead animal/bird seen. Why can’t all new roads have these?

If rail, teachers, nurses, firemen, ambulance staff, bus drivers, had the same rate of increase, there would be no strikes.
@Rhod_Sharp@bbcpaddy@BBCRadio4 After a chance encounter with your ‘whales and lobsters’ night, rang the desk at #5Live and begged them to commission more of that - and you. Up all night dreary without you.
@WisePaul65 @allotment9A Once watched a woman in Portugal push a needle and thread through the stems of chillies to make a ‘necklace’. Hung up in the kitchen back home, they transitioned from fresh to dried easily - and lasted 18 months usable.
If that wasn’t bad enough we also had sprouted Maris Piper at the same store from Israel priced at £2,000 per tonne. This is not any old disgrace this is an M&S disgrace. #farming#potatoes#ukfood#ripoffbritain
@tiredpsych Not flushing the loo every time it’s used. Not to save water - though of course it does - but to ‘save’ the septic tank. Many old tanks no longer function properly and need emptying from time to time.
Approach grafted as per @FlowerdewBob the best of the poor growth now clasped to the bosom of a foster parent. I know it looks like we're above the graft union - close inspection of the ‘plum’ on a St Julien stock shows it’s likely all rootstock. Now we wait.
Sentimental: this sad, fast-fading attempt to graft a vintage peach is on its way out after 6 years. Bud grafts taken earlier this year failed - any suggestions how to use remaining live wood to attempt resurrection? The pit from 1 peach produced is in compost. @FlowerdewBob ?
"Liz Truss’s £235m cut to Environment Agency ‘doubled sewage discharge’."
And it's looking likely that she also ordered Defra officials to go to Brussels and kill off the Water Framework Directive.

The same Marco Longhi that stands up in Parliament to berate & ridicule me! Shit sticks ya know! All over our coastlines & waterways. #TurdReich
