A mass deportation policy would rip apart American families and devastate our economy.

I expect the @mireprofreedom ballot initiative to prevail at the MI Supreme Court, & placed on the Nov. ballot.
But that hundreds of thousands of petition-signers could be disenfranchised—& reproductive rights of millions stripped—over SPACE BETWEEN WORDS is some dystopian shit.
With the horrible Supreme Court decision overturning Roe out today, a few things Michiganders should know:
(1) Abortion (for now) REMAINS PROTECTED IN MICHIGAN.
Though there is an old law criminalizing abortion on the books, it's been blocked from being enforced by a judge. /1
I will not be gaslighted.
The resolution did not fail because I refused to amend it. It is the same draft that passed last year.
It failed because Republicans wanted a new unacceptable line in it: “not every citizen in Michigan agrees with the lifestyle of the LGBTQ community.”

Today was our last Senate session day in June & the GOP majority refused its last chance to adopt my resolution to declare June as #LGBTQ#PrideMonth.
