The Real reason the U.S. is destroying the cartel has nothing to do with drugs , it’s the hundreds of billions of dollars worth of investment in mining (gold copper ) that is being done in Venezuela/ Colombia for rare earths that are strategically important for weapons production and AI data centers being built , but the criminal organizations are in control of these mining operations extorting workers . I mean it’s also to stop drugs but the motivation is beyond that, Mexico’s 2 billion in economic trade with U.S. is basically taxed by cartel and America wants that interior supply line to decouple from China . It’s why you see CIA ground branch in Latin America .

@EdKrassen Pence is wrong. It's rather collective West which is using Ukraine as its proxy warrior and does not want peace. Your idea is similar to UK, France, etc., which prefer war over peace. Russia always wants peace and it wants Ukraine to be neutral & accept the reality on the ground.
