And to women with platforms, myself included, we carry a responsibility.

Before we sit down to teach young women about marriage, choosing a husband, raising children, or what a man should and shouldn’t be, sometimes the first thing we need to do is heal.

Seek therapy. Seek God. Do the inner work. Confront what hurt you. Because if we don’t heal from what we experienced, there is a danger that we begin teaching from our wounds instead of from wisdom.

Some of us have endured betrayal, abandonment, difficult marriages, childhood trauma, financial hardship and relationships that completely changed the way we see men and love. Those experiences are real, but our pain should not automatically become the blueprint we hand to the next generation.

Young women are listening to us.

They shouldn’t inherit our fears.
They shouldn’t inherit our bitterness.
They shouldn’t be taught that money equals character, or that every relationship must be approached through the disappointments we experienced.

Our responsibility as women who came before them is to give them something healthier.

Heal first. Then advise.

There is absolutely nothing shameful about therapy. There is wisdom in recognizing that some wounds require more than pretending we have moved on.

And when we finally speak, let it come from healing, discernment, experience and truth,not simply from the parts of us that are still hurting.

The next generation deserves our wisdom, not our wounds.

Jaja Andrew @AndrewMwenda should remember that history teaches us a powerful lesson: greatness is not always determined by the circumstances of one’s birth.

One of the greatest kings in biblical history, King Solomon, was born from the relationship between King David and Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, David’s soldier. Yet Solomon went on to become a renowned king whose wisdom and leadership shaped a nation.

Therefore, whether King Oyo’s wife was a maid, a prostitute, or came from any other background should be secondary to the question of leadership, legitimacy, and the welfare of the people. A person’s parentage or the social status of their mother should never be used to diminish their right to serve or lead @QueenOlimi .

Leadership should be judged by character, competence, legitimacy, and the ability to unite and inspire the people not by the circumstances surrounding one’s birth @AnthonyTas7292.

If the people and the established traditions recognize the late King’s son as the rightful heir, then his place on the throne should be respected. A kingdom should not be robbed of its continuity because of arguments about social status or family circumstances.

History reminds us that destiny can emerge from unexpected places. What matters is not where one begins, but the legacy one leaves behind.

May wisdom, justice, unity, and the interests of the people always prevail over personal prejudice and political division.
