Official twitter feed for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust's project: restoring & creating habitat for Kent’s wild bees, with a focus on the Shrill carder bee
What do bumblebees, otters and a narrowboat have in common? 🐝🦦⛵ The answer is. . . our Senior Development Officer, Michael Rogers! Read Michael's new monthly blog series, 'A Bee Home Aboard' here: https://t.co/HEVCHf22ly
First #bumblebee of the yr & not the species I would expect to see yet! A beautiful Southern cuckoo bee (Bombus vestalis). Check out her hairy hind leg, this area would be shiny & hairless (apart from long stiff outer hairs) in her host the buff-tailed bumblebee. @BumblebeeTrust
Paint a Pebble and Post it!
(But not through next door's letterbox 😲 )
Go positively pebble potty! - tweet us your painted (or decorated) pebbles using #ArtofSavingSpecies - they could be featured on our gallery 🎨

A spontaneous excursion to search for blackberries after a bumblebee ID session at Riverside Country Park. Got caught in what felt like a monsoon 🌊 hardly collected any fruit but had a glorious late summer afternoon! Dreaming of that heat right now ☀️
Today marks the start of my last week as part of the @BuzzingCoast team 😓 Excited to start something new but I loved working on this project so intensely! Here are some of my fave moments from the last 3 years 🐝 starting the main event - spending my days with the shrill carder
@BBCSpringwatch@ElmleyNNR@rich_tv Wonderful place. The Isle of Sheppey is also home to the distinctive Shrill Carder Bee, one of our rarest #bumblebees. One to look out for in the summer months.
The first in a series, showcasing our @naturalengland landscape scale projects in east kent, working 1-1 long term with farmers to build nature recovery networks based on large scale species-diverse grassland creation. Farmers delivering nature recovery👍https://t.co/rFvawgxRWS
