@RonDeSantis hey Gov - you are doing an awesome job. One request: I have chronic Achilles tendinitis and my podiatrist has recommended a therapy involving amniotic tissue. He said it was inadvertently barred but a new bill has passed the FL house and senate to allow it. I hope you find time to sign it, and after you do I hope the therapy helps my issue. Keep up the great work and I hope your next gig provides an even bigger stage for you to fix things! 🤙 p.s. enjoying your baseball tweets as well … (from Grok: “The fix is CS/CS/SB 1092 (2026) / HB 567 (2026), titled “Podiatric Medicine.” It explicitly authorizes qualified podiatric physicians to perform procedures using cellular or tissue-based products (including amniotic tissue allografts) that have not been approved by the FDA, as long as they meet strict safeguards: products must come from FDA-registered/accredited facilities, proper sourcing (no aborted fetal tissue), patient informed consent (with a signed form disclosing risks, benefits, and unapproved status), and other requirements.”
I was just at the Sheraton Park City in Utah. The hostess in the hotel restaurant (Timbers) said she couldn’t seat me until I showed an ID, even though I don’t drink alcohol and wasn’t going to order any. Apparently Utah has pretty strict ID laws for establishment that serve alcohol.
Conor - I was living in London when Covid hit continental Europe, and the media there was reporting that the most affected groups were age 75+ with 2+ comorbidities. As it hit the US I begin downloading and crunching the Florida DOH datasets (over ~18 months) on Covid cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, and it was clear that nearly all deaths and most hospitalizations were age 60+, with very few hospitalizations and deaths under age 40. The data showed that people under age 30 actually had a CFR below that of the flu. However, our health establishment never acknowledged this or recommended an age-stratified approach to managing it; instead, they went all-in on lockdown, which apparently was contrary to existing WHO guidance. In retrospect, we should have thrown massive amounts of protection to those aged 60+ while letting most people, especially young people, go to school, to work, etc. All of the other things - like showing approval of mass gatherings for this reason (e.g., protests) but not that reason (e.g., church) - were icing on the cake. Science didn't fail us (it never does), but "the science"™ certainly did.
@MellowMushroom hey folks, any thought/plans to expand to Viera, Florida or nearby? We’ve recently got Costco, Whole Foods, and now Trader Joe’s - all we’re missing now is some Mellow Mushroom! Getting to your Winter Park and I-Drive stores once in a while is not enough … 🤙🍕
@elonmusk@SteveGuest This is a step in the right direction from the term “undocumented immigrants”. It tacitly acknowledges that (a) they have documents, and (b) those documents don’t authorize them to live in the US. As such, they should be subject to review and potentially removal.
@MellowMushroom hey Mellow Mushroom … greetings from Cocoa Beach! Any plans to expand to beautiful Brevard County, Florida? Your Orlando locations are great, but not close enough. We deserve excellent MM pizza over here too! ☮️ 🍕 🍄🟫
@davidharsanyi “Military tools of leverage” includes arming the Ukrainians and providing intelligence; it does not require direct US participation on the ground or in the air.
@nickgillespie Just around $60B in 2024, or a bit less than $200 per person in the US. Yeah, why should we spend any time looking into a tiny sum like that, especially when we’re running a huge budget surplus? Oh, wait … 🙄
I don't think a better VP pick than Walz would have won the election for Harris. Also, I don't think it's about progressives vs. moderates. It's more about the Harrris campaign in particular, and establishment Dems overall, having shitty political instincts.
@TheCriticalDri2 This is another form of participation trophy - even though you just sorted mail you are 100% as brave and important as those who risked their lives at the front, at sea, and in the air. It’s for audiences who wouldn’t dream of fighting but want their own hero’s journey.
@jacobsullum Jacob, it’s disingenuous to note the surge in crime and homicides in 2020 without mentioning a major contributing factor: the George Floyd riots and the resulting “de-policing” movement, which is gradually being reversed.
