@wiseconnector leapt from the brush, looped around the pool of standing water, and floored him. The goober now lies at death's door. I sit on a stool in the room, wrapped in a wool coat because it's too cool in here, waiting for him to meet his doom. I need to scoot on home to cook dinner. Boo.
@wiseconnector I stood outside the school at noon, looking for the fool who wrote this, but he had escaped into the woods. Too poor to buy food, he then tried to shoot a goose. Startled by the shot, a moose
Can we get 500 retweets on this? This is one hell of an ad from the Democrat running for US Senate in North Dakota. The question is whether people will watch it and share it.
@ByrdLady4 @VABVOX And Pelosi is 83 and both women look 10 years younger than McConnell at 81. Do women just take better care of themselves, or is it the lack of a soul that aged him so badly?
The @GOP@HouseGOP@SenateGOP and the MAGA cultist are all on here crying, whining, and bitching about their terrible election results.
Here's the thing .... you want to know why you did so poorly, I'll tell you why.
People are getting sick and tired of the Republican Party trying to control every facet of their lives.
You can whine, cry, and bitch all you want, but that's the bottom line. Full stop.
Republicans want to tell parents how to raise their kids by denying them the PARENTAL RIGHT to let their kids live as they choose to live. Instead, they want to create laws that tell parents how to parent and what decisions to make for their children.
The women of this country are sick and tired of the @GOP@HouseGOP@SenateGOP trying to tell them what they can or cannot do with their bodies. For God's sake, you're passing laws to prevent women the FREEDOM to travel across state lines for healthcare. Wtf are you, if not dictators and authoritarians!?!
The LGBTQIA community is sick and tired of the Republican Party demonizing them and denying them their right to the "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" the Declaration of Independence says they should have. Not to mention all the laws you're attempting to pass that would make them second-class citizens.
The economy - all you MAGA extremists do is lie about how bad the economy is when the employment rate is at an all time high and inflation is under 4%. Biden inherited a fucked up economy from your lord and savior Donald Trump, but you never mention that - with the highest unemployment rate in U.S history and over 40% of people losing their homes in 2020. You MAGA idiots want to blame covid, and that's fine, but Biden also dealt with the pandemic, and he's brought the economy back. Is it perfect, no, but at least the country is in a better state than the way Donald Trump left it.
You incessantly LIE about "migrant caravans" and "open borders," but NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON can name any legislation passed by Congress and signed by President Biden enacting these so called "open borders." you know why, bcos it's all bullshit.
And I laugh when you MAGA morons bring up rising crime, as if crime wasn't already on the rise before Biden took office.
Let's not forget @GOP โ
โข The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020.
โข Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate within 21 years combined.
โข Even when murders in the largest cities in Red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.
So you want to know why you did so poorly during these elections @GOP@HouseGOP@SenateGOP โ bcos the American citizens (MAGA cultist excluded) are sick and tired of your never ceasing bullshit. PERIOD!!
And don't think you're gonna do in better come 2024, bcos you're not.
@afrosabi I've always preferred the single and that's what I have in the home I own. However, the place I'm temporarily renting has a basin similar to this, and I love it. I'm thinking about replacing the one in my house with one like it. Still not a fan of the traditional double basin.
Grandmother-to-be Cheryl asks, โHow early is early learning?โ ๐ง
Itโs a question I love, because it gets right to the heart of what I hope to use this account to convey.
The simple answer is that children literally begin learning in utero. They are born learning and never stop - which is both an important lesson for parents and a reality often poorly aligned with our public policy.
For decades weโve been lulled into believing that there is a distinction, for example, between child care and education. We talk about sending children to kindergarten โready to learnโ - as if THIS is where and when learning begins.
It isnโt.
For young children, ALL environments are learning environments. The real question is: are they any good? And in all too many cases the answer is no.
The period from prenatal to three is the single most consequential window in all of human development.
So plan - and act - accordingly.
Whether in the home, in a classroom, or both, babies need stable, attentive, and nurturing adults. This makes the selection of an early childhood program particularly consequential.
You arenโt choosing a babysitter. You are deciding who will co-construct your childโs brain.
We fail to recognize the importance of the early years to the detriment of both children and taxpayers - who spend incalculable sums on the result of our inaction.
As for practical tips: talk, sing, read, and play with your baby.
Hold them close.
Look them in the eye.
Narrate your life together.
Limit screen time and be present.
Rinse and repeat. ๐

Thanks for the question, Cheryl!
