Today, Invest Kenya participated in the U.S.–Kenya Critical Supply Chains Conference, hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce Kenya (@AmChamKE) in partnership with the @USEmbassyKenya .
The CEO of Invest Kenya, @JohnMwendwaOGW, was a panelist during the session on “Investing in Kenya’s Mining Future,” where he underscored Kenya’s commitment to regulatory predictability, fiscal stability, and investor-focused facilitation as the country strengthens its role in global critical minerals and supply chains.
The panel featured senior leaders including Hon. Harry Kimtai, Principal Secretary, Department for Mining, and Mr. Kosh Kroon, Assistant Secretary for Textiles, Consumer Goods, Materials, Critical Minerals and Metals, who shared perspectives on advancing U.S.–Kenya collaboration across mining, transport and trade systems, and ease of doing business.
As global supply chains evolve, Kenya continues to advance supportive policies, practical cooperation, and strategic partnerships to unlock sustainable investment and drive shared economic growth.
Today, the CEO of Invest Kenya met with Uber Africa representatives to discuss Kenya’s business climate and priority issues affecting platform-based investments.
For the past 10 years, Uber has been a key player in Kenya’s digital mobility ecosystem, commanding 40% market share and supporting over 27,000 drivers nationwide. In 2024 alone, Uber generated an estimated KSh 14.1 billion in economic impact—driven by higher driver earnings, tourism facilitation, and the rapid growth of food delivery services.
Kenya is also emerging as a regional leader in sustainable mobility. Uber currently operates 2,000 e-bikes in the country, with plans to scale to 4,000 e-bikes in the next year, reinforcing the shift toward greener, more inclusive urban transport.
Invest Kenya works closely with investors to address operational bottlenecks, strengthen policy predictability, and ensure Kenya continues to be a competitive destination for digital, mobility, and green economy investments.
Today CS, @GovLeeKinyanjui engaged the Invest Kenya management team, led by @JohnMwendwaOGW, in a briefing session to review ongoing preparations for the Kenya International Investment Conference scheduled for March 2026.
