Spent Canada Day shooting Team Canada ๐จ๐ฆ๐ธ
Here are some of my photos from Canada Basketball's Senior Men's National Team training camp at OVO Athletic Centre in Toronto.
What a year, what a team ๐ค @HuskieWBB
Was a blast having the best seat in the house for this squad all year long, en route to the ninth Canada West Championship in program history ๐ฅ๐ฟ
Congrats to my guy since JRN 103! ๐ @IlyasHSN
The opportunity is deserved and then some. Can't wait to see him reporting from down at Scotiabank for one of the biggest papers in the country.
Iโm excited to share that today is my first day as a reporting intern on the @globeandmail sports desk!
Thank you to everyone who has helped me up to this point and I canโt wait to learn more.
From working alongside the amazing staff to covering National Team athletes โ it was an unreal year with Canada Basketball
Thanks to @muadems for the endless opportunities and trusting me on the keys over the last 12 months โ all the way through GLOBL JAM & the @FIBAWC๐ฅ

Two years ago, I talked to Vukie Mpofu for @cbcsports as he began his first full-time NHL front office job in LA.
Today, he was named the Pittsburgh Penguins director of hockey operations and legal affairs. Here's more on Kyle Dubas' new right-hand man:

The first of its kind in Saskatchewan.
Mike Tanton and Paige Crozon are helping lead the Living Skies Indigenous Basketball League's success in the province, as they bring free basketball to the Prairies.

In 2007, Nick Taylor won the Canadian Amateur at Riverside Country Club in Saskatoon.
Almost 16 years later, Taylor has broke the infamous 69-year drought and become the first Canadian to win our National Open since 1954. History at Oakdale.
The lone Canadian umpire in the MLB โ Saskatchewanโs Stu Scheurwater.
My story for @SaskSport on Stu beating the odds after an 11-year career in the minor leagues, and reaching the majors all the way from Regina:

@BobWeeksTSN 10 PGA Tour Canada events on the 2023 schedule โ feels inevitable this number is shrunk under a new format.
Pair that with the extra logistic hurdles, commitment requirement and increased cost for young Canadian golfers, and this sure feels like a loss for Canada
I hope the NHL is sitting here seeing this and realizing they need to be giving their players the opportunity to compete best on best with their countries crest on their chest.
Good for baseball.
