The literacy crisis isn’t just about people struggling to read words. It’s about losing the ability to understand context, infer meaning, question information, and form your own conclusions. And relying on AI to do all that thinking for us is only making the problem worse.

i do think we need to impose, like, way more rigorous schooling on kids. they should have to read books that challenge them. they need to learn at least a second language. they should be forced to memorize and recite poetry. idgaf
