@BobbyHowardOK Yeah, they don't know about the decades of OKC support for a revolving door of minor league teams like the 89ers, Blazers, Cavalry, Yard Dawgz, etc. It does feel validating to see ourselves on national TV for something other than OU football.
@bobsayre@MikeCosper Do you honestly believe this is what Mike wants? You know you're engaging in logical fallacies. I watched part of your sermon on the Great Commission, and you seem genuine. Keep that energy up instead of online taunts that are unbecoming of a Christ follower. Blessings.
@mika_edmondson How are you defining "flourish?" This is literally the blueprint the United States used to transform a loose network of scroungy colonists into a global economic and military superpower. I don't think it's moral, but it did "work" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@heymrsbond Good recommendations in the replys. But one caveat - you’re asking for a pan-Indigenous history, but we don’t think/write that way (monolithic). We center our research on our people, so a broad stokes look at US history would typically come from a non-Native perspective.
@drantbradley I think it’s very probable that we will eventually have a president enrolled in a Native American tribe, but has low blood quantum and/or association with their tribe so that the majority culture does not feel threatened (e.g. Stitt, governor of OK).
Thank you for all of your support! We’re working as hard as we can to organize efficiently with hundreds of Swifties across the U.S. and will share more with you soon!
We’re coming together as a fandom because we’ve seen firsthand how effective we can be as a group. 🫶✨
@SBCExecComm Love seeing this! But…“Native Americans” are in no way a “people group” anymore than all Europeans are one group. There are hundreds of unique Native Tribes/nations that are all unique groups, and yes, many are resistant to talking about Jesus (read the replies too see why)
@not_complicit@SBCExecComm Hi anonymous commenter! The dance you’re watching was developed in the mid twentieth century and is more sport than anything you mentioned. Actually, people’s commitment and devotion to Alabama football is waaaaaaaaay more like worship (as defined in scripture) than this dance.
@JeremiahReese10 @SBCExecComm So glad you asked, Jeremiah! “They” didn’t (“they” is honestly too broad as tribes are different). This type of dance originated in the early to mid twentieth century and is for performance and competition. Tobacco is generally frowned upon and more often banned from powwows.
@butchClazen @brettachapman So...IF he is from one of the few plains tribes that uses that form of headdress in their regalia, and IF he has achieved a certain level of honor and awarded the right to wear that headdress and understands its importance, he honestly wouldn't be wearing it at a football game.
