Here are the SIMPLE FACTS about the Republican Shutdown:

1️⃣ Republicans control everything — and still can’t govern.
They hold the White House, the House, and the Senate. When one party runs the entire government and it grinds to a halt, there’s no one else to blame. As one Republican once said: “The president needs to get a deal.”

2️⃣ Republicans don’t even have their own team together.
They need 60 Senate votes to pass their own bill — and they can’t even get 55. This isn’t a Democratic blockade. It’s a Republican meltdown.

3️⃣ Republicans are lying about “healthcare for illegal aliens.”
That claim has been debunked by every major fact-checker: AP, NPR, PBS, KFF Health News, and Georgetown University.
➡️ Undocumented immigrants do not — and never have — received Medicaid or ACA subsidies.
What Democrats are fighting for:

* Affordable coverage for 24 million American citizens whose premiums will skyrocket.
* Restoring coverage for lawfully present immigrants — refugees, asylum seekers, and DACA recipients — that Republicans stripped away.
* Protecting Medicaid from nearly $1 trillion in GOP cuts that hit veterans, seniors, and families.

4️⃣ Republicans are using the shutdown as political revenge.
They’ve frozen $26 billion in infrastructure and climate funding — targeting mostly blue states — while threatening SNAP benefits for 42 million Americans and putting thousands of federal workers out of a job. This isn’t fiscal discipline. It’s extortion.

5️⃣ Republicans admit their own message is collapsing.
Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters the GOP’s talking points are “getting old.” Meanwhile, the House remains on vacation while families go without paychecks and critical services shut down.

6️⃣ Polls show America knows who’s at fault.
Every major poll says the same thing: Voters blame Republicans more. Even conservatives admit it. Because when you control everything and still fail to lead — you own the chaos.
