@confidencenac Kemi can rule out what she likes. The Tories don’t keep leaders who lose elections and in case you haven’t noticed, they recently sacked leaders for a lot less than keeping the party out of government.
What Kemi says now has no bearing on what happens after the votes are cast.
I think Ed Sheeran should’ve remained silent.
I agree with this post from ‘Meegs’ on Fb
“Silence doesn't make someone neutral. In this world, taking a public stand ON ANYTHING puts you in a position to be a target. Keyboard Karens and Kens sit hiding behind a screen spewing all they believe to be right, justified or not.
Musicians should perform MUSIC.
I can't go into work and just loudly proclaim my political views (and demand they be heard and agreed too), without repercussions. Everybody is screaming for injustice are often the very ones doing NOTHING to help stop injustice or ... creating further injustice. Ed Sheeran is a solid human who just wants to play music and entertain. You are not going to change the world by protesting against him .. he is not the problem, you are going to change the world by being kinder. Go now and be the change YOU want to see in the world.”
Jim Ratcliffe grew up in a council house. He created a business which has paid the salaries of thousands of staff and millions in tax. You, by contrast, come from a comfortable middle class background. Your career has been in politics and think-tanks. He has done more for this country than you are ever likely to. I understand why, as a Labour MP, you seek to demonise “the Right”. But this is reductive shite.
@confidencenac So Nadine is right. He’s a genius and a brilliant communicator.
Did you notice how the interviewer kept pushing for more dirt and there wasn’t any?
So, he isn’t good on Twitter. That’s it. Now let’s do any other politician and see if we can find one that’s perfect.
I’ll wait.
This is caused by our desperation to give away the #Chagos Islands and our willingness to shrink on the world stage.
Trumps comments have only emboldened Argentina and further fractured the West.

Burnham just now:
“Who in government drives growth? My theory requires it to be driven with the [thumps hand on despatch box] full authority of the very centre of government”
The most forthright demonstration of a lack of political understanding of growth I’ve heard.
Government can only create the conditions for growth. It cannot create growth.
Growth itself only happens when government gets out of the way.
This approach is doomed to fail.
@peg_roger@confidencenac Simply put, if the Tories hadn’t deserted their core values, turned their back on their traditional voters and been an effective government with no in-fighting, Reform wouldn’t have gained a foothold or even exist.
The Tories created their opposition & caused the right wing split
@confidencenac@peg_roger This is yet another way the Conservatives deserted their core values.
They were the party of law and order. In 14 years the population increased by 6.5 million yet prison places only increased by 482.
They became soft on crime, soft on law and order.
@confidencenac@peg_roger A net increase of 482 in 14 years. The figures are from 2010 to 2024.
Are you happy to give Labour 12 years to catch up?
Would you like to herald this “net increase” of 482 in your next election leaflet, to prove the lack of prison places isn’t the Tories fault?
Thought not.
@JezHermerMBE @RupertLowe10 Your post is a prime example of the problem with the right wing split. It concentrates on Restore v Reform. The fact that the Greens won is largely ignored.
Right wing parties can argue until the cows come home. None of it matters if they don’t win elections.
@confidencenac@LawrenceReekie Do I understand you correctly? You don’t think the Conservatives need to win back their ex voters? Their core vote that kept them in power for decades? True Conservatives?
Do you like being in opposition? Do you like being on the precipice of political irrelevance?
@confidencenac You have proved nothing.
Posting positive things about the Tories doesn’t hide your constant criticism of Reform and it’s across the entire Tory party
Farage himself has complained that he is constantly criticised & is not often given the right of reply bc Reform is a small party
