Sono sempre qui a ricordare che Milano sfilano gli attivisti del Pride a poche centinaia di metri da un recinto in cui i musulmani hanno chiuso le loro donne. Sempre qui a ricordare che il meteorologo Mercalli auspica che Hormuz resti chiuso e le bollette aumentino così montiamo tutti quanti i pannelli solari un po' lì e un po' là. C'è stato nei decenni e secoli passati qualcuno che può vantare una tale ondata di psicopatici? Qualcuno che possa vantare gente con la mascherina in auto? Qualcuno che possa raccontare di aver vissuto ai tempi della scrittrice Verena Brunschweiger che organizza incontri pubblici per chiedere ai tedeschi di non fare più figli perché i bianchi sono la reincarnazione del Demonio? Posso continuare pressoché all'infinito, perché questa è esattamente l'epoca dove l'infinito collima con i desideri che vengono chiamati "diritti" e che altro non sono che una questione di disagio psichico delle masse che erano così ben prima del caldo, ma mai prima di tale epoca.

He sat at the piano and played the opening of Bohemian Rhapsody, not the whole song, just enough to set the crowd on fire. Then he stood. Strode to the microphone.
Radio Ga Ga filled the stadium. Seventy-two thousand people raised their hands in perfect unison, one of the most iconic images of the entire decade.
Then Freddie stopped the band. He turned to the crowd. He opened his mouth and sang a single sustained note.

And waited.
Seventy-two thousand people sang it back. He went higher. They followed. Higher still. They stayed with him. Back and forth, the note climbing, the crowd holding on, the moment stretching into something that felt almost sacred.
It would later be called The Note Heard Round the World.
They tore through Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, a shortened We Will Rock You, and finally We Are the Champions. The stadium shook.
Twenty-one minutes after they walked on, Queen walked off.
Bob Geldof, the man who had not wanted them there, said afterward: ""Queen were absolutely the best band of the day. They played the best, had the best sound, used their time to the full. It was the perfect stage for Freddie: the whole world.""
An estimated 1.9 billion people across 150 nations had been watching. In 2005, music industry insiders voted it the single greatest rock performance in history. Not one of the greatest. The greatest.
Authors and musicians who were there have said those 21 minutes may have saved the band itself, that Queen was on the verge of a permanent split, and that afternoon reminded all four of them what they were still capable of together.
Freddie Mercury died on November 24, 1991. He was 45 years old.
But on July 13, 1985, for 21 minutes, standing before 72,000 people under a London summer sky, he was the most alive person on earth.

CAMBIAMENTI CLIMATICI: UN PO' DI CHIAREZZA SU ADATTAMENTO E MITIGAZIONE.

È oramai chiaro che non si può andare avanti a oltranza in Italia con fonti variabili (soprattutto fotovoltaico, chè di eolico possiamo installarne ancora poco), oltre il "punto di ottimo", cioè oltre il livello per il quale si ottiene il beneficio massimo in bolletta (p.e., con gas a 30 €/MWh, è quando il 20-30% della domanda è coperta da fotovoltaico, circa il doppio di oggi).

La spiegazione è semplice: data la contemporaneità di produzione di tutti gli impianti installati, se son troppi l'energia prodotta in eccesso, tutta nelle stesse ore, in parte viene remunerata e buttata via (curtailment), in parte accumulata e rimessa in rete qualche ora più tardi. E i costi del curtailment e delle batterie si aggiungono in bolletta, insieme con quelli delle reti che servono a connettere gli impianti.

Ma intendiamoci: "ottimo" per chi? In letteratura "ottimo" significa di solito "minimo prezzo in bolletta". E noi proprio questo intendiamo.

Ma l'ottimo per chi installa fotovoltaico, eolico, batterie, reti (trasmissione e distribuzione), tutte attività a rischio zero, poichè godono di remunerazione garantita o da leggi dello stato o da delibere Arera, qualunque sia l'utilità reale e l'impatto sui prezzi, non è affatto lo stesso "ottimo" dei consumatori.

Per i produttori e i gestori di rete, più fotovoltaico ed eolico si installa, meglio è. E poichè, come dicevamo, da un certo punto in poi l'energia prodotta non sostituisce più energia a gas, a meno di accettare costi esagerati, tutto sommato a chi "vende" gas non dispiace più di tanto: si riduce la quota di elettricità a gas, ma essa diventa indispensabile, tanto che uno non ne fa a meno nemmeno se il gas costa 50-60 €/MWh, perchè l'alternativa con l'80% da fonti variabili farebbe costare l'energia elettrica più di quella a gas con gas a 60 €/MWh. Insomma, per fare un esempio, si riduce del 20-30% il consumo di gas, ma il suo prezzo può aumentare ben di più. Perchè mai chi vende gas dovrebbe lamentarsene?

Ma oramai questo è chiaro ai più. Così un certo numero di pseudo-esperti di cambiamenti climatici, in tv e sui giornaloni, si affannano a ricordarci che "non c'è più tempo", che dobbiamo "azzerare le emissioni subito", che "il nucleare arriverebbe troppo tardi", ecc.

E mai una volta che ricordino che, se anche stanotte, per miracolo, azzerassimo le emissioni mondiali (non solo il 6% europeo, o lo 0,7% italiano), la concentrazioni di CO2 in atmosfera ritornerebbe al valore pre-industriale in "almeno 200 anni", perchè il tempo di persistenza della CO2 in atmosfera è molto alto. Non lo dico io, che non sono un esperto, ma l'IPCC!

Perciò, è vero: DOBBIAMO AZZERARE LE EMISSIONI DI CO2, ma per farlo davvero dobbiamo usare STRUMENTI che si sono dimostrati EFFICACISSIMI (da 40 anni le emissioni del settore elettrico in Francia sono intorno a 30 grammi di CO2 per kWh).

Ed è vero che abbiamo perso un sacco di tempo pensando di azzerarle "con un braccio legato", rinunciando allo strumento più efficace. Ma sarebbe veramente da Tafazzi se, invece di correggere rapidamente la rotta, dessimo retta a questi imbonitori che, guarda caso, consigliano di continuare con strumenti che "si installano più in fretta" e che tuttavia (ma questo non lo dicono) si sono empiricamente rivelati completamente inefficaci (in Germania con zero nucleare e 193 GW di solare ed eolico, costati almeno 600 miliardi di Euro in incentivi, le emissioni elettriche sono ancora 10 di più che in Francia, e le bollette le più care d'Europa).

La lotta ai cambiamenti climatici è una cosa serissima, per cui dobbiamo:
1) investire una valanga di denaro per adattare tutte le nostre infrastrutture ai cambiamenti in atto, che dureranno secoli;
2) ridurre le emissioni con strumenti efficaci ed efficienti, ovvero un mix ottimale di nucleare e rinnovabili, implementandolo senza ulteriori indugi.

Una sfida tremenda che non ammette più errori!

De omegablokkade — dat is de werkelijke meteorologische verklaring achter de extreme temperaturen die momenteel over een groot deel van het Europese continent worden gemeten. Terwijl grootmedia als de NOS de hitte vrijwel reflexmatig koppelen aan klimaatverandering en broeikasgassen, wijzen kritische wetenschappers op een veel nuchterder en beter onderbouwde verklaring: een hardnekkig weerpatroon in de hogere atmosfeer dat Europa al vaker in zijn greep heeft gehouden.

Wat is een omegablokkade precies?

Een omegablokkade is een specifiek patroon in de straalstroom — de krachtige windstroom op grote hoogte die het weer in onze breedtegraden grotendeels stuurt. De naam komt van de gelijkenis met de Griekse hoofdletter omega (Ω): een grote hogedrukrug in het midden, geflankeerd door twee lagedrukgebieden aan weerszijden. Dit patroon zorgt ervoor dat luchtmassa’s nauwelijks kunnen doorstromen en het weerpatroon wekenlang kan vaststaan.

In het geval van de huidige hittegolf wordt hete Saharalucht door het anticyclonale (met de klok mee draaiende) luchtstroompatroon noordwaarts getransporteerd richting West-Europa. Terwijl die luchtmassa stijgt en daalt onder de hogedrukrug, wordt ze adiabatisch samengedrukt — een puur fysisch proces dat de temperatuur verder doet oplopen. Geen CO2 aan te pas.

Meteoroloog Chris Martz trekt aan de bel.

De Amerikaanse meteoroloog Chris Martz deelde zijn analyse van het huidige weerpatroon uitgebreid via sociale media. Zijn conclusie is helder: deze omegablokkade heeft niets te maken met klimaatverandering of uitstoot van broeikasgassen. Het is een bekende, goed gedocumenteerde weerdynamiek die altijd al heeft plaatsgevonden en ook in een hypothetisch pre-industrieel klimaat tot recordhitte zou hebben geleid.

Martz wijst bovendien op een opvallende wetenschappelijke paradox. Er bestaan namelijk diverse studies die suggereren dat opwarming van de Arctis juist zou leiden tot minder frequente blokkerende weerpatronen zoals de omegablokkade, omdat het temperatuurverschil tussen de evenaar en de poolgebieden kleiner wordt. Dat staat haaks op de bewering dat klimaatverandering dit soort hittegolven veroorzaakt of versterkt. Martz erkent dat er debat bestaat over dit onderwerp, maar de eenvoudige klimaatboodschap die media uitdragen, is sowieso te kort door de bocht.

Europa vaker getroffen, maar waarom eigenlijk?

Dan is er nog een toename van zonnestraling die het aardoppervlak bereikt, doordat er minder bewolking is van lage en middelmatige wolkenlagen. Die afname van bewolking hangt deels samen met de strenge Europese luchtvervuilingsregels, die hebben geleid tot minder atmosferische aerosolen. Minder deeltjes in de lucht betekent minder wolkenvorming, meer direct zonlicht en dus hogere oppervlaktetemperaturen.

Met andere woorden: de eigen Europese milieuregulering draagt bij aan de toegenomen hitte. Dat is een ongemakkelijke conclusie die je in de reguliere media zelden zult tegenkomen.

Media kiezen sensatie boven wetenschappelijke nuance

Denktank Clintel, vertegenwoordigd door wetenschapsjournalist Marcel Crok, onderschrijft de analyse van Martz. De conclusie is simpel: wie de oorzaak van de Europese hitte wil begrijpen, kan beter een meteoroloog raadplegen dan een krantenredactie die op zoek is naar een clickbait-verhaal.

Het is inmiddels een vast patroon: zodra het ergens warm is, wordt de link met klimaatverandering gelegd, vrijwel zonder nuance, zelden met meteorologische onderbouwing en al helemaal niet met verwijzing naar mogelijke alternatieve verklaringen. Dat is geen journalistiek — dat is activisme vermomd als wetenschap.
