Software developers are blown away because AI can do our job better and faster.

- when robots build an entire house in 24 hours, the construction worker will get it.

- when robots run into a burning building and save a family, the firefighters will understand too.

I don’t think people understand how over it might be for most of humanity. Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but honestly, it is pretty scary. When I look back at diffusion models, sure, they were AI, but they were AI in the sense that you trained a specific tool for a specific purpose. An axe is great at chopping wood, but put it against a spear or a bow and it’s probably going to lose because that was never what it was built for.

But once you have an AI that can learn to use a wide range of tools with minimal additional training, that changes everything. At that point, even specialized systems like diffusion models start to look obsolete as standalone tools. The axe isn’t just becoming a better axe anymore. It’s turning into a Swiss Army knife that can pick up entirely new tools as needed.
