This new North Carolina House bill would jail or authorize the murder of women due to their personal use of birth control, such as an IUD, or for having or attempting to have an abortion.

❗️ Internal messages from Meta show employees discussing how 7.5 million child sexual abuse material reports annually disappeared after making FB Messenger end-to-end encrypted.
Meta simultaneously spent over $2 billion lobbying politicians, 4,433 grants totaling approximately $2.0 billion.
$0 of which went to child safety.
Instead, they invested millions into lobbying for app-store/OS-level age checks through the App Store Accountability Act, making sure they're not liable for age verification of children.
It seems as if Meta doesn't care about child safety or predators targeting our children. It is only concerned with making more money. They're going to lose a lot of money once a major part of their users can't be targeted by advertisers anymore.
Now the US is facing a major problem with age verification. Not only is legislation heavily influenced by big tech, but:
- Politicians are scared to be seen as ineffective and want to be reelected
- Conservatives push for it to prevent 18+ content
- Progressives push for it to stop predators from accessing children
Creating a Frankenstein set of laws...
Documents reveal a web of financial ties between Trump officials and the industries they help regulate:
ProPublica is releasing a trove of disclosure records that detail the finances of more than 1,500 Trump appointees, including former lobbyists, industry executives and at least a dozen officials who declined to identify former clients.

New: FBI’s evidence response team was delayed in reaching the Brown shooting because there was no FBI plane available to take them to Rhode Island, per sources and whistleblower. @FBIDirectorKash had one plane in Florida. With @CarolLeonnig https://t.co/IILIA63Lb7
‼️ BREAKING: Researchers have uncovered secret AI surveillance projects linked to KYC provider Persona and OpenAI, sending user data to the US government.
Code references include intelligence program codenames "Project SHADOW" and "Project LEGION."
Analysis of source code revealed OpenAI's user verification systems includes biometric tracking, facial scanning, political screening, and intelligence reporting.
Researchers also discovered ONYX on Persona's government server — matching ICE's $4.2M AI surveillance tool — which scrapes social media and the dark web, builds digital footprints, tracks emotional sentiment, assigns risk scores across 300+ platforms and 28B+ data points, and flags individuals for "violent tendencies."
None of it was hidden. It was all internet-facing.
Earlier this year the BS Budget Bill reduced the tax deduction for gambling losses to 90%.
In response, I introduced the FAIR BET Act to restore the commonsense 100% tax deduction to protect professional and recreational gamblers. I was the first in Congress to introduce this fix and haven’t stopped garnering support from members and stakeholders since.
In fact, the #FAIRBETAct has up to 21 bipartisan co-sponsors with @RepEzell most recently joining!
It is now critical for @WaysandMeansGOP to add this bill to the legislative calendar before the year ends. We must get this fixed.
FULL REPORT: Colombian public media reports that a U.S. military strike on a boat on September 15—the second attack on a vessel by the U.S. in the Caribbean that we’re aware of—was a Colombian boat and was in Colombian territorial waters.
At least one of the three victims extrajudicially killed in the strike was Colombian lifelong fisherman Alejandro Carranza. Alejandro’s identity is confirmed by his cousin.
The Colombian boat was adrift and had its distress signal up due to an engine failure.
This Anniversary, Remembrance Is Not Enough.
There is an ongoing case brought by the families of victims of 9/11 against the Saudi government which was responsible for enabling the attackers here in the US. This case has been pending for years. Last week, a judge ruled against Saudi Arabia’s request to dismiss the case.
We need to stand with the families and put pressure on the Saudi government to give these families the compensation they deserve.
And here's Netanyahu in 2002 giving "guarantees" that if the US sends its men and women to die in a war in Iraq, it will produce massive benefits for the entire region, rainbows of peace and democracy will sprout up, and all will be lovely:
lots of drooling stupidity here but it’s cool how the official conservative line now is to just remove Israel critics from society via deportation/prison. No pretense of winning hearts and minds or promoting a positive vision of Israel. Just disappear zoomers til morale improves
BREAKING: U.S. Government Submits Memo Justifying Deportation of Palestinian Activist Mahmoud Khalil For Beliefs Instead of Criminal Activity
➤ The memo, signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio states that while Khalil’s activities were “otherwise lawful,” his presence would undermine “U.S. policy to combat anti-Semitism around the world and in the United States, in addition to efforts to protect Jewish students from harassment and violence in the United States.”
➤“Condoning anti-Semitic conduct and disruptive protests in the United States would severely undermine that significant foreign policy objective,” Rubio wrote in the undated memo.
➤ Judge Jamee Comans had ordered the U.S. government to produce evidence against Mahmoud Khalil ahead of a hearing Friday to decide whether the government can continue detaining him during immigration proceedings.
➤ Despite earlier claims by DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin that Khalil’s activities were “aligned to Hamas,” the government has not provided any evidence to support this accusation, and has made no reference to the group in its most recent filing.
➤ Khalil’s attorneys, Marc Van Der Hout and Johnny Sinodis, stated, “After a month of hiding the ball since Mahmoud’s late-night unjust arrest in New York and taking him away to a remote detention center in Louisiana, immigration authorities have finally admitted that they have no case whatsoever against him.”
➤ “There is not a single shred of proof that Mahmoud’s presence in America poses any threat,” the attorneys added in their statement.
➤ Khalil, in a letter from jail, has rejected the antisemitism accusations, and Jewish students have written to the court in support of his character.
