Cigaal dhaliilo kale ha lahaado, laakiin xagga dawladnimada iyo diblomaasiyadda wuxu ahaa siyaasi qab leh.
Cigaal wuxu fahamsanaa in diblomaasiyaddu aanay ku koobanayn hadallada iyo qoraallada oo kaliya, balse ay ku jirto astaamaha,hab-maamuuska iyo dariiqyada lagu maareeyo xidhiidhka caalamiga ah. Waana sababta uu ugu adkaysanayey ,bal ictiraafku haba dambeeyee, in Somaliland si gaar ah oo Somalia ka madaxbanaan loola macaamilo.
The challenge for #Washington and #London is not a lack of evidence or understanding. After more than three decades of Somaliland's peace, stability, and democratic governance, the facts are undeniable. The real question is: how much longer will the U.S. and the UK allow outdated policy to prevail over reality?
As Ive said before - if given a choice would a rational person choose Mogadishu or Hargeisa to live in? Events continue to prove that Somaliland is the real functioning state vs Somalia's chaos. US Govt will come to its senses eventually.

@baruud@JulianPecquet While not accredited due lack of US recognition, Somaliland's Ambassador Bashir is one of the most accomplished and hard-working diplomats in Washington. Hargeisa is fortunate to be so well represented in the US.
A failed administration in KM 4 of Mogadishu that cannot maintain political order in Mogadishu, depends on foreign troops for its security, and remains locked in endless internal disputes has no credibility lecturing others about borders. Govern what you claim before preaching to others. This is what Al Jazeera is reporting to night @AliOmarMP

Congress mandated @StateDept to provide a report on potential areas for improved #USA🇺🇲 engagement with #Somaliland. What it got was two double-spaced pages regurgitating deep-state bureaucratic pablum about the claims of the unelected regime of the #Somalia🇸🇴 failed state. Sad!
Proud to have played a small part in Somaliland’s constitutional journey at a young age, though many people may not know this story.
Decades ago, during the drafting of Somaliland’s Constitution, members of the House of Representatives’ committee would bring handwritten sections of the Constitution to me for typing and conversion into formal text documents. We would often meet at KAAH Institute, located beside Hassan Rakoub Mosque in the Goljano area of Hargeisa.
The focal figures of that effort included the current Speaker of the House, Hon. Yasin Haji Mohamoud Hiir (Faratoon), and the late MP Mohamed Barkhad Miigane (Hamaal) whom we used to work together at the University of Hargeisa before his passing, both of whom were among those dedicated time to shaping the constitutional foundation of our nation.
At the same time, another constitutional committee, appointed by President Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal, was working on a separate draft. The committee was led by Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim Khalil, Sudan’s former Foreign Minister, who would later play a significant role in the South Sudan independence referendum process. Prof Khalil passed away on December 10, 2024.
Recognizing the importance of unity and consensus, President Egal later established a committee tasked with harmonizing and merging the two constitutional drafts into a single document - Minister Mohamed Saed Gees was among them. That process laid the foundation for the Constitution that continues to guide Somaliland today.
Looking back, I feel privileged to have witnessed and contributed, however modestly, to a historic chapter in Somaliland’s state-building journey.
Today marks 25years since Somaliland’s Constitutional Referendum of "31/May/2001", a defining moment in democratic state-building and constitutional governance under the leadership of Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal, the 2nd President of the Republic of Somaliland.
Happy Madaraka Day to the people of Kenya and to all my Kenyan friends.
Today marks a proud celebration of self-governance, freedom, and nation-building. May this day inspire continued unity, prosperity, and progress for Kenya and its people.
Wishing you all a joyful and memorable Madaraka Day. #madarakainwajir

Amb Herman J. Cohen, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, has expressed support for strengthening U.S. relations with Somaliland and advancing its international recognition. Aligning with Senator Ted Cruz’s appeal to President Trump on Somaliland recognition, Amb. Cohen stated that the United States should “strengthen ties with Somaliland and recognize its longstanding record of stability and self-governance and benefit from its strategic importance along the Gulf of Aden.” @CohenOnAfrica
#Somalia’s President has sparked controversy after a speech condemning Somaliland’s ties with Israel, describing saluting the Israeli flag as “a disgrace” and making remarks critics described as antisemitic and hostile toward Jews and engagement with the Jewish community.
Observers warned the rhetoric risks inflaming religious tensions and undermining diplomatic discourse in the Horn of Africa. #Somaliland #Israel
@FNCGlobalNews If President Donald Trump were to recognize Somaliland and South Arabia, Saudi Arabia would suddenly find itself rushing toward the Abraham Accords.
The reasons are strategic, economic, and geopolitical , and Riyadh knows it.
I join the global Internet community in mourning the passing of Alan Barrett, a visionary leader whose contributions helped shape Africa’s Internet ecosystem and strengthen global Internet governance. His dedication and service to AFRINIC, ICANN, and the wider Internet community leave a lasting legacy.
My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the entire community during this difficult time. @AFRINIC@ICANN
Somaliland’s track record of stability and democratic governance and its strategic location at the gateway of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden already demonstrate the kind of environment that aligns with these priorities.
A rules-based, predictable, and open investment climate is exactly what attracts long-term capital and expands trade opportunities. Somaliland’s progress in maintaining peace, conducting competitive elections, and safeguarding maritime routes positions it as a practical partner for trade facilitation, regional connectivity, and sustainable investment under frameworks like AGOA.
Strengthening such partnerships benefits both sides by reducing trade barriers, expanding market access, and creating opportunities that support economic growth and private sector development across Africa and the United States. @AsstSecStateAF
We want to work with African countries that are willing to take the steps necessary to attract investment and create opportunities. This is why the United States remains committed to modernizing AGOA; we want to see strides that will benefit American workers, eliminate barriers to trade, and create new avenues for U.S. businesses.
Commenting on those in the Muslim world who have criticised Somaliland's alliance with Jerusalem? President of Somaliland said: “They should mind their own business,” he laughs. “Every country is free to form alliances with whomever it wants.”

A failed government propped up by foreign troops and donor handouts, yet still unable to secure basic parts of Mogadishu, has no standing to lecture anyone on stability or sovereignty. What credibility does it have for meaningful partnership when it cannot even exercise effective control over Mogadishu?
Somalia welcomes constructive partnerships with all international partners on maritime security, counterterrorism, and Red Sea stability. But true partnership must respect Somalia’s sovereignty, constitutional order, and territorial integrity.
The narrative that Somalia can only contribute to regional security through fragmentation is historically false and strategically shortsighted. A stable, united Somalia is the strongest guarantor of long-term security across the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el-Mandeb corridor. Efforts that encourage secession may appear tactical in the short term, but they carry profound long-term risks for the Horn of Africa, the Red Sea, and international stability.
@SenTedCruz, U.S. Senator and senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has emphasized that Somaliland could serve as a critical counterterrorism partner for the United States, citing its strong commitment to security cooperation and its strategically vital location.
He further urged the formal recognition of the Republic of Somaliland as an independent state, while calling for an immediate strengthening of counterterrorism cooperation between the United States and Somaliland.

“We should recognize the Republic of #Somaliland as an independent state and, in the meantime, significantly boost our counterterrorism cooperation.”/2
