Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth delivered an incredibly disrespectful performance at today’s D-Day commemoration in Normandy, using the solemn event to push anti-immigrant rhetoric.

While standing on the hallowed beaches where Allied forces launched the largest invasion in history to liberate Europe from Nazi occupation, Hegseth said:

“Today, different European beaches are stormed by different dangerous ideologies. In Spain, Italy, Greece and Bulgaria, boats and men arrive. When will European capitals do something about that invasion? Or is it too late?”

OMG. D-Day was the moment American, British, Canadian and other Allied troops risked everything to storm those beaches and defeat fascism. A day when it really seemed the future of the world hung in the balance.

To cheapen the 82nd commemoration of that day with B.S. xenophobic political posturing about migration is just unconscionable.

On behalf of the handful of youthful heroes still with us at 100 years of age or more, we apologize on behalf of the American people.

At one of the most sacred and historic sites in the world, the Trumper Hegseth couldn’t even show some basic respect to the fallen by leaving politics the f*ck out of it for once.

This is as close to treason as a President can get. It may not be technically illegal, but it is *definitely* reckless and destructive to America: incessant claims that California's election *system* is rigged and can't be trusted - when many examinations have proven otherwise.

This isn't about a genuine concern re the voting system in a major U.S. state w the objective of making sure the system is fair and open, its about trying - hard, relentlessly - to *destroy* the electorate's confidence in the state's system so that ANY electoral outcome that doesn't produce a winning Republican candidate, is immediately decried as "rigged."

The President of our country should consider it a primary task of ensuring all elections are fair so that the *will of the voters* - regardless of whether those voters are Republican or Democrat - is accurately reflected in the outcome, and that there is no systemic manipulation to suppress one party over the other, or one candidate over others.

That's not what President Trump is attempting. It is plainly evident he only wants to preemptively set the condition that if any of his preferred candidates don't win this November, he's already ready to shout from the Oval Office "fraud, fraud!" in an attempt to reverse the voter's decisions.

Prior to the 2024 presidential election, then-Candidate Trump and a great many of his supporters had laid the foundation, claiming evidence of massive fraud heading into election day, that the system was rigged against Mr. Trump.

In September 2024, Candidate Trump said at a campaign rally that "If I lose – I’ll tell you what, it’s possible. Because they cheat. That’s the only way we’re gonna lose, because they cheat."

But who knew, turned out that he didn't lose, and then suddenly the election was free and fair and accurate. The obvious question: did his political opponents suddenly decide -- in mass, all over the country -- NOT to cheat at the last minute, and thus he won fairly? But now in the state of CA where there are far more democrats than republicans, he's setting the case, *again* that if Rs don't prevail, it'll be evidence of voter fraud?

This is a blatant and routine for the president and his supporters to sew seeds of distrust so that the system itself is not to be trusted, and therefore only when one's own candidates win, is the system deemed "fair." That's not an issue of systemic fairness, that's an attempt to tip the scales in the favor of one party OVER another, and is the opposite of fair.

One important point here: there is no assumption that ever race is fair and clean, so there is a perpetual requirement that we keep a close eye on the system, and any claims of cheating are given serious consideration and appropriate investigations conducted. But if the checks prove the system is fair, then its time to act like adults and accept the *electoral* outcome (i.e., the genuine will of the voters), even if you hate that outcome. Work harder in the next election to do better for your side.

Listen, the system is already *heavily* slanted against regular Americans and in favor of the super wealthy elites, who have the tens of millions to pour into House, Senate, and Governor races in our country, all but guaranteeing ONLY the wealthy get to decide which candidates get to compete for your vote, also coming close to guaranteeing that no non-wealthy candidate even gets to compete.

Let's don't add to the difficulty by trashing the system itself so that our population doesn't even trust a genuinely fair and accurate election result.
