@DNVR_Nuggets@BrendanVogt@Adam_Mares I always wanted Desmond Bane over Nnaji or Hampton a few years ago as well. Even in that draft. Think that ends up making a huge difference. At least Hampton turned into the package for AG, but having Bane over Nnaji the last few years would’ve been franchise altering imo
Agree with most of that actually. My argument isn’t really that cleans are entirely ineffective. it’s that you framed it as cleans vs deadlifts. Your model uses cleans, med ball work, and mound work together. That’s fine.
but to pit cleans and deadlifts is misguided, and if I’m picking between the two, deadlifts are going to be mandatory. You won’t be able to overload cleans if you don’t build the force foundation first.
Poor wording on my part, I meant training RFD relative to throwers.
That study shows cleans express high RFD during execution. That’s not the same as training adaptation. And none of it addresses why sagittal plane force production transfers to rotational throwing mechanics. Different question entirely.
Deadlift doesn’t either, but it’s far better at actually training strength and force production. Combine that with plyometric movements and rotational throws (much more specific to multi-planar throwers) and cleans become redundant
@micheal_ws18 Any movement where the shoulder joint isn’t moving hits all three heads.
And reverse grip doesn’t change any bias but rather makes the extension movement disadvantaged. Biomechanically, supination or pronation does nothing for the triceps.
